help me plan another CT gathering

benchmadebob, if you don't mind, how old are you?

i was a little scared about my dad being weirded out about the crowd last time, but it turns out everyone is pretty normal...;)

everyone (except the park officials) were very well behaved and very civil. just remember that we are all real people, and everyone is really cool.

just tell an adult about all the cool survival stuff they can learn about, and the fishing that they will get to do.
 
Yeah, only 1 underage guy got hurt and bled a little, but the rest of them made it out just fine:D
 
haha yeah i wasn't there that night, but he told me about it a little. how did that happen anyways?
 
He stabbed my Koster Nessmuk into a table, and his grip could have been tighter.

aah yeah...

two lessons to be learned from that:
1. don't stab knives into tables
2. use a lanyard when stabbing knives into things
3. don't be too relaxed when playing with something that came out of dan's shop...

nevermind that came out to three...

I'll bring the Koster Bushcraft I just got to the gathering for you to play with. That thing is scary sharp!
 
tony, that sounds good.

i will bring my sharpening stuff and see if i can't get it sharper...

i am working on rigging up a car battery to run my little belt sander so i can bring it...we'll have to wait and see if that turns out or not.

anyone mind if i invite the busse guys? i think there are at least a couple that might like to come, but don't regularly hang out here...

Your dad was really cool. I enjoyed meeting him. Any chance he'll make it out for this one?

I teased him about not wearing the suit jacket if he comes out though...:D

Is makeing 1 or 2 (saturday, maybe sunday too) of the days permissible with this outing, or is it an all or none deal? I khnow 95% shot that Friday is a no-go for me, Sunday is too early to tell.
 
I don't see a problem for that, as long as you get in early on the day your coming, incase where running a trail or doing a canoe trip.
 
as tony said, its fine if you show up for one or two of the days instead of the whole thing.

i also agree that it would be better to get there on the early side of the day, because there's no telling where we might end up, and you don't want to miss out!

brian, i might be able to get him to come along, but he's really more of a computer geek than a woodsbum (makes me wonder where i got it...). i'll try though...

Getting up there early in the day shouldn't be too hard- I'm only ~20 miles out. Hopefully there will be somesort of (rough or better) itinerary out before hand, which would be helpful. When you say early, what are we looking at- 8AMish or so?
 
mp-yeah, we will probably get together somesort of gameplan as we get closer in terms of a rough itinerary.

yeah, around 8 or 9 probably we would be wrapping up breakfast and getting ready to do whatever we are doing...
 
Brian, Siguy's dad could help you out if you want to do a "Live from CT" transmission :)
