Help Me Select a Bushcraft Knife

I am leaning towards the puukko design, BCNW-O1, but I also like the Entrek Forester, but the BCNW seems more refined, and other Puukkos that compete well with these?

Don't limit yourself to Finnish puukkos. There are Mora knives from Sweden as well as Helle from Norway. The majority don't have full tangs, but have been doing all the chores associated with what people call "bushcraft" for hundreds of years. They come on both carbon and stainless steel.

If a full tang knife is important to you I can think of no better option that something like the BCNW-O1. Unless you prefer a stainless blade, then consider the Entrek Forester.

I don't plan on limiting myself, I already have a whole pile of all sorts of Moras and I am very happy with them, I don't worry about them having a stick tang, but there is no denying that a full tang is stronger, and in a knife that small it will only weigh a couple of ounces more if it's full tang. I am not only interested in Puukkos, I'm open and looking for ideas and suggestions.

Ps. I am tempted to get the Helle Egen, but that will be at a later date, full tang knife for now.

Thanks

I really like the Spyderco Bushcraft model. If you are looking for a custom, how about Adventure Sworn or Graywolf Knives. I ordered a Graywolf and received it within a month. I have an adventure Sworn on order and expect it to be delivered this summer.

I like the Graywolf Knives, seem like an excellent value, too bad they don't come with sheaths, I guess I could order one custom, but then I have to ship someone my knife and wait another month for them to make it and ship it back.

Which model Graywolf did you get? and what are your impressions, ergonomics, fit and finish, etc...?

Plus 1 for Adventure Sworn or Graywolf Knives!
Also check out the Enzo Trapper or best option in my opinion, Carbon MORA!!!! I have a Woodlore clone and it love it, but it stays in my pack and my Mora follows me everywhere!

I'm a big fan of Koyote Knives and Fiddleback. Fiddleback sells to a couple dealers also.

I do not like my DC4 much.. Very rough and fell apart

I would get the Syderco doublstuff... Much better pocket stone.

Hope I'll have better luck with mine. I'll look into those though, can't have too much knife stuff.

Thanks, what brands or makers would you recommend, bearing in mind that I don't want to wait too long.

Marttiini, Woodsknife, Iisakki-Järvenpää, Kauhavan Puukkopaja, Roselli, Lapin Puukko and Ahti are some brands off the top of my head. Could be hard to find outside Finland though, if you find nowhere else to get them, you can order worldwide at www.lamnia.fi.

Finally bit the Bullet. I ordered the BCNW-O1, Mike was so friendly and helpful, he even agreed to make it in a higher end wood (for a small amount more), so I ordered it in Lignum Vitae wood. It's an amazing knife. I got it today and I can't stop holding it. The ergos are so unique, and very comfortable.

Super fast work, would highly recommend so far, looking forward to trying it out in the woods.

Kellam puukkos. Or enzo trapper o1 steel. Helle have beautifull knifes. But stainless. Kellam has carbon. Also karesuando has great puukkos
