Hey there...so I've successfully sold off a few knives in order to fund a purchase. I was looking to get my hands on a first Damascus 21. I need some help making a decision. I mostly carry small 21s, the occasional large and the rare mnandi. I've got a few inlays, large and small, cf and some plains. No mammoths!
I've been presented with a few options...![]()

The first is a large box elder that shares my wife's birthdate. I have 2 large box elders already, and I really prefer ladder or raindrop but this one is beautiful. The next 2 are small ivory, and the non Damascus is about $200 less than the Damascus.
The perfect knife would be a small darker wood ladder like maybe a snakewood or even spalted beech, but they would have to be purchased new.
I just know i won't come across an ivory every day, and was always curious.
Whatcha guys think? Help a fella make a decision...the PayPal balance is burning a hole in my iPhone case!

I never met a mammoth scaled CRK that I didn't like! [emoji1360][emoji1362][emoji1376][emoji1376]
That said a bark mammoth is always one of a kind. The striations in the bark give it character. I have 30+ bark versions. Only a couple of flat white ivory because they all look alike. (With some slight variations of tone and virtually invisible grain)
So.... buy 'em all! Or send them my way!

Well I got the ivory and the box elder. Wanna offer me a bark? I've been looking for one but am not willing to spend the money unless I find a pattern I absolutely love. I'm really hoping to find one with a lighter color and a cleaner look opposed to the ones that look like they are falling apart
