Help need some input on sheaths

Not much I can add to this except maybe we could have a sticky at the top of the Busse Sub-Forum (or whatever this place is called) for all sheath makers that make sheaths for Busse. Each maker has a post that lists the knives they can/are making sheaths for, maybe a few pics indicating previous work and styes. Now the good part would be that the makers would be encouraged/required to update their post on the 1st of every month.

I know many of the sheath guys here have their own websites but I was just thinking that if you were new to Busse and new here then the 'Sheath Sticky' may save you a lot of time, trouble and questions.

Any thoughts?

I think that is a good idea. I think David started a thread asking for input like this, maybe you could share your thoughts in that thread as well.

Hello Grandsuave,

Thanks for the info. Yes, I ordered the SFNO yesterday! :D They said 4-6 weeks shipping wait though which kind of surprised me. I will see if I can get something from the company store as you suggested which should get here sooner I would hope.

Richard

That's a very good idea, RoyalM!

Busse's are great knives, and as the do not come with sheaths theres a whole lot of people making them. Me included. And I wouln't like to pollute this thread with pics of my sheaths, so I won't post them here, but a sticky on this subject would be most welcome!

And welcome Richard, you make some hot leather it seems!

Welcome Richard!
Would you also take extreme weather conditions (hot & dry, hot & humid,...)into consideration when your design your product? You probably don't need to squeeze all capabilities into one, but it will be great to know someone is making sheaths with those conditions in mind.

Hm, please elaborate. I think most if not all the leatherworkers here take that into consideration.

Welcome Richard! Looks like you do nice work! The wait is actually very nice these days, when I started collecting the wait was closer to a year or more. But the aftermarket was level. If and when you have Busse related questions please feel free to ask away, for the most part were a pretty helpful bunch. The booze is good too! :D

I love leather but all the sheaths I have are kydex ones. Probably it's because I just have not used leatherman sheath yet.
