help on a new edc? its a toughy

Hey frankie, you should definitely pick up a USA made kershaw, they make some great stuff. The junkyard dog II composite blade Looks great, good ergos, and priced rite. If that is a little to looky for you check out the blur, skyline. My next kershaw is going to be a speedform II.

If it makes any difference to you guys i buy most of my stuff from knifecenter and they have a great return policy, as long as the knife is sent back in the same condition you got it in its 60 days no questions asked.

i keep looking through kershaw trying to see if anything jumps out at me, the blur isn't really jumping at me, not so sure about assisted knives either, only ever had one but i wasn't so crazy about it.

Spyderco Stretch might work as it has a different blade shape. Look at the Kershaw Speedform 2 as well. You get Elmax in an American made knife and I think Kershawguy has them for $75 shipped.

iv seen other people talk about kershaw guy, can you guys tell me a little more about him and his site?

I'd really go back to the kershaw Leek or Random leek...
Based on what yuo've said, little smaller s30V fine tip> its my favourite leek

Best Kershaw dealer on the web, bar none. He's a paid dealer here, and a very standup guy. Fast shipping, excellent prices and very good CS. I hate to just rant about it, but I honestly have nothing bad to say about him.

I like that I can conceal it pretty much anywhere as well. Comes in handy.

I have a Spyderco Harpy with a fully serrated hawkbill blade that works really well for the kind of stuff you're doing.

seems like we hit a wall on new things to suggest, im going to assume that now im left to try to make a decision based off of those knives.

1+ on the ZT 350. really great knife with lots of blade steel options and a totally reasonable price

Never thought of carrying my folder like this before. Anyone know if this would happen to work with an Emerson? By that I mean, would it still be possible to get the wave to work correctly depending on how you pulled the knife?

I'll second the small, carbon steel fixed blade suggestion. Izula II or maybe Scrapyard Scrapivore

You would have a heck of a time using the wave feature carrying a folder like that. The wave needs to catch on something, not sure how it would work having the blade tucked in the waistband.

Knowing my luck, it would catch on my underwear and I'd be standing their holding a knife with a pair of undies hanging off the blade.

I would look at the Spyderco Native. It's got S30V steel that has great edge retention and is pretty easy to sharpen, great ergonomics, and it's only around $60.

I don't think the Kershaw Knockout or Piston have been mentioned yet. They're within your size and price range, and made in the US. Pretty sure Knifecenter carries both of them, (though other places have better prices.)
Also, if you like the idea of a small fixed blade, I have a list of pretty much every production neck/pocket fixed blade currently made saved on my computer. I really like the category, so it's nice to have all potential purchases in one place. It would be pretty easy for me to edit it for price and post it here.
