Another vote for the Leek. I prefer the frame lock ones, which you can get in Sandvik or CPM-D2. I believe the S30V blade is only available on the liner lock version w/ the G10 scales. I find the slim, tapered blade is easy to maneuver in and out of tight spaces (eg. under a zip tie), and the wharncliffe shape / flat cutting edge does make long shallow cuts (eg. cutting the tape on a package) a bit easier vs. trying to drag the blade belly (larger area, more resistance) or adjusting the angle with your arm to cut more with the tip.

I read through all the suggestions here and I have nothing to add.. I did note in your original post that you work around a lot of cardboard boxes. Did you know that you can strop a knife using cardboard? At the end of the day just run the blade along (edge trailing) the cardboard a flat piece of cardboard and it should make your edge last a lot longer between visits to the sharpmaker.

great edc is the benchmade hk nitrous blitz in the 154cm or the limited in s30v both are light at 2.7 oz plenty of edc reach at 8 inches and thin in the pockect plus plenty strong with duel titanium liners and the limited is a steal at 99.95

My two cents..... Benchmade 950 rift. My opinion only.
pros. overall length alittle over 8", alittle over 3.5" blade length, the blade is on the thin side for me but makes up for it in its width, tall flat grind, the thickness of the blade runs almost to the tip (watch a good youtube vid and look closely), full steel liners no milling, good weight, G-10 blanket term but it seems denser than other brands to me, the G-10 is milled where it should be and flat where it needs to be, 950-1 satin or DLC is the all blacked out model, thumb stud on both sides, axis lock, Made in U.S.A.
The "take it or leave it". blade steel, does me just fine but I love CPM-M4, pocket clip (it has scratched things), pillar/flow thru construction (I like the half and half not varity), wish the liners were jimped like the 810.
cons. Mine came slightly off center and can not be tweaked.
but life is short, shorter for some than others (name that movie) get what you like and be happy.
