Hello guys I have a good few higher end knives and some crk and what not. I need a really good strong all around great Edc to have with me all day everyday so I'm not destroying my nicer knives at work. I'm looking for strength lightweight and just reliable basically. I've narrowed it down to 4 choices.

Benchmade volli
Benchmade 710
Spyderco pm2
Spyderco yojimbo2

I'm looking to spend around 100 ish if you guys have any other suggestions I may not be aware of I'm more then open. Thank you guys any personal input helps

Benchmade and Spyderco both make good products. The BM 710 and Spyderco PM2 are some of the most popular models from the 2 manufacturers and either one would make a good EDC. I would suggest the PM2.

PM2 for sure! Great size and weight for edc plus compression lock is so fun to play with

Does the pm2 take up a good space in pocket and I've played with two and they both were off center. Is that a usual. Anyone have any experience with the volli. I'd unassist it the day I got it but other then that seems good

The 710 is an outstanding edc. Big blade that carries quite small (you'll hear that phrase often concerning the 710 because it's very true). Unfortunately the 710 goes for $153. A bit over your budget.

Another knife I like equally as much is the Yojimbo2. Great blade shape , great compression lock and the ergos are dead on. I love S30V. And it's priced @ $120.

I own both and use both constantly. Either would make an excellent edc.

The pm2 is definitely wider than the 710, but it is by no means to wide to fit in one's pocket. It is noticeable, whereas, though a bigger knife, the 710 seems to dissapear in my pocket as it is narrower. I cannot speak for others, but I have both 710 and pm2, and both are perfectly aligned. I would recommend both, but the pm2 edges out the 710 just a bit. I like the size and shape of both the handle and the blade on the pm2 more, and the handles are more grippy than the 710s.

I have a 710 and a PM2 both are great. The 710 has a 4in D2 blade and is a great slicer a little more expensive than your $100 price tag maybe if you buy one used. The PM2 has S30V you could find one around $100 if you get the digi-camo and satin blade but the black G10 or black blade usually cost more. Also they have a lot of fake PM2 out there. Both the axis and compression lock are fun to play with.

Ya I'm a lil flexible on the 100. 100-150 is doable. I've just heard so many great things bout the pm2 and everyone has one but me seems like. but I can't put my finger on t everytime I get one in hand they just don't feel too solid

I suggest the PM2, but if it doesn't feel right give the Yojimbo 2 a try. Best ergos for me personally and my all-around favorite knife. The tip is very fine though so be aware.

FWIW, the only reason that I don't own a Volli is that it is assisted. Great knife.

I would get either the 710 or manix 2 xl due to lock types, and blade size (i prefer a larger knife). If you didntwant to go with either of those my next contender would be a pm2. I own a pm2 a i like it, have yet to give it pocket time though. As for the 710 my reasons for chosing it are i like the steel, i love the blade size, and i want a new benchmade (i only have a 551). I love the way the manix feels in hand and how the lock operates, and you can do a zip tie wave mod if you so chose, another plus would be s30v if you like that steel.

My vote is for PM2. BM710 is a great knife, but d2 steel is not really stainless. S30v on Spyderco is very good steel wich dont need special care. 710 with m390 will be perfect, but it is not in budget.

Sounds like a job for the Spyderco Manix 2 in S110V

Have to respectfully disagree.

D2 isn't going to require any "special care" by virtue that it's "not really stainless". I've carried a pocket knife with 1095 steel for years, have never given it any special care, and it's still a thing of beauty. We're not gutting fish all day and leaving the knife out on deck all night, this is an EDC.

Strong, lightweight, reliable enough for all around EDC carry... the Benchmade will serve just fine.

Hardly any pocket space taken by the pm2. Out of the blades you're looking at I would go with the Spydeco pm2 or for sure the Manix 2.

The manix takes up more pocket space vs. the pm2, but there are also a lightweight models.
