Help talk me into a BK16

DerekH will give you a lap dance. Yuengling will put your picture on their bottles. And it will go viral....

Adele will team up with Willie Nelson to write a song about you, and it will win the Nobel Prize.

Doc, you have much to learn my friend.

They have the best prices in southern ontario.... usually.

Thanks for the reply, CTA. I bought my first Becker (1990's Machax -pictured here because all threads need photos :D ) from Sean and Rod, but I didn't think they carried Beckers anymore.

Like you, I'm strongly considering a 16 but want to see how it feels, first. Some reports suggest it may be a bit small for my hand.

Doc

In fact, the 1095 is hardened on a fire that burns on dead bears and great white sharks. How can you not want that?

I heard that in owning a 16...strippers will actually pay YOU to watch them dance.

This is true.

There is a downside though. Since I've gotten a 16 I've been called several times by world leaders to ask my opinion on different subjects, regarding their foreign and domestic policies. It gets annoying after a while though. I've got no time anymore to use my 16.

The BK16 is considerably more reasonable from the river store, Canada version.

It's a great blade that I honestly didn't think I'd love. However, it's become one that I can't imagine ever getting rid of. I love the ESEE3, so went for the ESEE4 to replace the BK16, but it didn't happen. The ESEE4 moved on to greener pastures and the BK16 has been a great camp and hiking knife.

After the 16, you'll want another. The 16 backwards is 61. This refers to the famous highway 61 which leads to Memphis, Tennessee, home of "The King".

Maybe a BK-9 in your future also?

If you want the 16, you probably will not be happy with a compromise and honestly the 16 may be the best companion possible to your BK 2. Let your wife know that it is worth the cost and what you Really want for dads day. Maybe agree not to go out for a big meal and just get the blade? I just got a bk 7 and the 16 is next on my hit list!
Good luck bro.

bie thuh 16 buhcuz et uz a gud nife.. et weel kut reel gud two. u weel lak et a hole laut.

Doc

If you were going to be carrying it as a main blade on marked trails then I would say go for it. If you're going to be pairing it with a BK2 then I personally would rather take my Mora. So that being said I would hold off on the 16 and maybe look at something else that tickles your fancy that maybe fills a role you have open. Unless the 16 is just keeping you up at night, then just get it. Also, you need a BK9. You can't not have a 9.

Trade and Euro, very nice, are you guys taking this from another thread or should we start one? Doc, s&r has a 16 on the shelf, I was there fondling it this week, the grip was smaller than some moras, which had me concerned as well. I sat down to strop my BK2 today, it was already sharp but I sharpen it for hours a day anyway instead of eating or sleeping.... but that's for another thread. You guys talk about them like your carrying a double bit axe head in a sheath, its not that big, now that I think of it I cut steak with mine, cleaned a squirrel and carve spoons. I'll see wify this afternoon, we shall see how it goes, she needs me to fix her car so now is a good time.

Get the 16.
I picked it up just because people were anticipating it. Then I used it.
Doesn't hurt that I've customized mine a bit, but it really isn't necessary.
It stripped the bark off a walking stick better than a couple pricey custom bushcraft knives. It batons through firewood better than an RMD. It carries easily, and fits the hand like a dream.
Sharpens up easily, and holds an edge well. It's still my go-to blade when works needs to be done.
If you want it, you won't regret it.

Well its official Call to Arms, you now know what you must do.

I know right? Might as well start living a pimp studly mack daddy lifestyle instead of winding up on Dr. Phil with some weird rejection complex.

Can I close a sale or what? :D

If you have plenty of 4 inch knives I suggest a BK9. Man it’s just something you need to experience. It will take camping to a whole new level. Leave the BK2 at home to change tires with and get hooked on the 9.

I do not have a Bk16 at this time but all you really need is a BK9 and a good 4 inch knife (like the BK16) and you are set with no needs for any other knife.

I myself carry a BK9 and a MKII USMC but will soon switch out my MKII USMC for a MKI or a BK16.

If all you can afford for now is one knife then I vote for BK9 but I know you will not be sorry if you get the BK16 but you will not get the rush of the BK9

Burger King will never f*#k up your order at the drive through.

Yeah but McDonalds will spit in your burger just to be vindictive. They're all super-loyal ESEE fanboys over there. But McDonald's sucks anyway so it's all good.

Also, I heard Cobie Smulders and Elisha Cuthbert are totally into the BK16. And if you buy one, Justin Bieber will stop.
