Help...want a new daily carry...

I changed my mind. I think you should listen to Howie and get a "Taiwan" folder. I mean what does a Sebenza do? It cuts. Well a "Taiwan" folder can cut also!

Besides, you will save a whole lot of money. For the price of one Sebenza you can get enough "Taiwan" folders to last many lifetimes, and then turn around and sell the rest. If you buy a Sebenza you may lose it; with the quality "Taiwan" POS you have no worries! Besides, if you get a Sebenza, you are just going to buy the other sizes and then the decorated ones, and then the damascus, and so on. Just trying to save you some money here. :P

Hey Howie & Johnny, I think you're on something here, uhhh, I mean ONTO something here!;-)

I like the idea of the disposable POS!

Well, in all seriousness...I thank everyone for their posts. It looks to me like the Sebenzanistas have majority vote. I figured that would be the case. Now I just have to decide which to buy FIRST, Large or Small! Thanks again, we have a great group of folks here at BladeForums.

Depends on how large a set of hands you have, as to which size to get.
I've heard a lot of folks say the small was too small for them and others say the large was too large for them, a fellow here at work, Greenie on the forums, insists that Chris Reeve Knives needs to come up with a knife that lies between these two sizes, maybe they will?

I like all three sizes that they put out, the Small Sebenza being the optimum size and still strong enough for about any job.

Haven't held any of the Dozier folders but the D2 steel is pretty good stuff.

I've got it on pretty good account though, that a Talonite (R) folder would be the last knife you need to buy, as this source told me, since he has the Carnivour in Talonite, it has become his daily carry, barr none!

Now I can't wait till I receive my Talontie Carnivour sometime next month I would hope and I'll post my finds and see if it makes the others take a back seat!

Good luck on your search! I sort of cheat in that I carry multiple knives, but the M2 AFCK rides in my front pocket everyday, no matter what knife I choose to wear on the belt, so the M2 is taking more of the abuse, tough knife, so don't rule them out!

Boriqua,

I've found that it's the exact opposite. After buying my Sebenza, I realized that I would never need another folding knife for utility again. So that means that all of the money I might have spent looking for the perfect utility folder is now freed up for "collectible" or just plain fun knives that don't need to be used hard to be appreciated. It was really the Sebenza that turned me on to custom knives in a big way.

So, congratulations! You've found THE utility folder! But have you found THE art folder? How about THE fixed blade fighter, or THE camp knife? By the time you've found those, someone will probably have bested the Sebenza, so you can start over again!

There is never a good excuse to stop buying more knives!

Small Sebenza for a gentleman's knife. Large Sebenza for strong utilitarian purposes where size doesn't draw attention. After using a knife from BG42, I am tempted to sell all my ATS34.....

Superman,
It's not on your list, but you might consider the CRKT Bearclaw. Please see my post on the "your first neck knife" topic.
Good luck with your choice!
