Camillus CUDA CQB-3 - sharpen the false edge and he's got a superb fighter that can handle any utility task he may encounter (that includes chopping, hammering and light prying). The blade is made of carbon steel (the same stuff Camillus uses for their Becker line), great stuff. Sharpens up nicely.
Comes with an excellent OD green/black Nylon/Kydex sheath with an extra pocket (that's where you can put the Victorinox you should get him in addition to the Camillus).
By the way, these two knives won't break your bank.
