Help with a new large blade

Res-C is awesome. grippy with no stickiness, fairly firm but soft enough to dampen shock and vibration, end extremely chemical resistant. I have at least 10 with Res -C handles and it is my favorite by far. it would definitely be worth saving a little more and getting something from the Yard. They might have a 9" out next if you want something bigger than the 711.

The KA-BAR JAB PotBelly is a nice knife. The BK9 is my favorite...my buddy has a CS TrailMaster, it's nice but I like my BK9 alot better! Condor is making some nice knives now that you might want to check out...Awsome customer service, get with fortytwoblades on here, he can tell you all about Condor. I got my little bro a Condor Hudson Bay & it rocks...the only thing about the HB is the handle needs a little TLC but no big deal. Another one I like is the Ontario Spec series...check them out too !

I like the looks of the scrapyard ...what does the resoprene handle feel like it? Is it like a hard plastic or rubbery? Also I just got into making my own kydex sheaths... with the junglas is the one that comes with it on worth it, should I just make my own?

The Res-C handles feel great, think car tyre rubber !

Just an update... I'm still searching for my big knife. I checked on the Kershaw outcast, but found a few things I didn't like ... skeletonized handle, plus a few you tube videos that made me change my mind. I have been looking for used scrapyards, junglas, and hoodlums. I did find the condor varan it fits the bill nicely...does anyone have one.... if so how do you like it

I can't speak highly enough for the value that the Becker line of knives offer.

The handles are great the sheaths are functional.

I was able to handle a Becker for the first time this weekend at the local gun and knife show and I would have pulled the trigger then but he was asking 85 for a bk-7 and wouldn't come down ... I know that I can get them way cheaper.

Guess I'm gonna do it... Becker, here I come! I have yet to hear anything bad about beckers, i just wanted to get opinions about other options... guess for the money there arent many. A bk9 will probably do the trick. Is the blade the same thickness as the bk7?

This YouTube video sold me on the bk9 .. pretty impressive!

The Kydex sheath that comes with the Junglas is probably the best Kydex sheath I've ever seen direct from a manufacturer. Well worth the money and WORLDS better than what comes with the Beckers.

The Becker knives are awesome for the money, but they are sort of like the gateway drug to others for me. I've owned several and while I don't have a problem with them, I much prefer the Junglas for many reasons, not the least of which is the far superior micarta scales. I've never seen anything but absolute perfection come from ESEE. I mean, I've had some seriously nice knives come a whole lot less well put together than the average ESEE.

And just to set the record straight, I''m no ESEE fanboy. I only own one right now anyway.

I've used buck knives for 35 years in the woods. I love them. My 120 is awesome. Great leather sheath but I'm going to make a kydex one for it and my 103. I've changed over the years and love kydex versatility now. I use the 120, a bad ass Damascus big bowie, or my ZT Vakra. Depends on where I'm going and how bad I'm going to beat on my blade.
