I have been attempting to contact Mr. Linger by email and telephone with no success. I have not heard from him since Oct. 2006 when he requested the final payment for a WSK knife ordered over two years ago. Can anyone provide a current contact number or ask him to give me a call or email.

Thanks

Andy Mehringer

One last try. As previosuly stated I have not heard from Rodger since Oct. 2006 when he requested and received the final payment for a WSK knife. Can anyone provide any assistance at contacting him. I have lost track of the number of emails I have sent. He has not answered his telephone anytime I have called, and I have now sent a certified letter. I realize he has had "communication" issues in the past but this is fast growing unacceptable.

Thanks

A.M.

He was on the forum yesterday. Have you sent him a PM? I sent him one a few minutes ago. Hopefully he will be back on Bladeforums soon and he will get my PM.

Keith - that's about the one thing I did not do. I will shoot one out right now and hope for the best. If he has been on the computer though he would have received quite a few emails from me over the months.

Thanks

Andy

Andy,

Any luck contacting Roger? I am having the same problem. Although I see him posting here from time to time, I have yet to receive a response to any of my last 8 e-mails. Just like you I have paid for my knife in full (ordered it in December of 05) and was promised that it would be delivered first by the end of summer of 06 and then by the end of winter of 07. Alas, no word from the knifemaker. :thumbdn: :(

I imagine that Mr. Linger has had to be made aware of this thread by now.

what is going on around here lately??

I'm sure he knows all about this thread. I sent him a PM quite a while ago, and he has definitely been on the forum since. He would have gotten both mine and cleaner145's PMs, and I have no idea why he is not responding, unless he has responded to cleaner145 and we have not been informed of this..

It has been said many times but I'll say it again. Do not pay for knives until they are finished and ready to ship. If a maker wants money up front, go somewhere else.

In cleaner's case it appears that he was told that it was ready to ship...

this doesn't look good at all, imo. especially absent any response from the maker to numerous queries. hopefully its not a big thing, there does seem to be a lot of poor communication going on these days.

edit: I am going to add one thing. I don't think that it is right that this issue appears to have been overlooked because the maker in question is known and respected here. I know this is none of my business but if no one else is going to say it then I feel that I must.

Well, in my case I tried to find out the status of my knife in late August of '06. After multiple attempts to contact Roger I finally heard from him sometime in October of '06. He's been unresponsive ever since.

So...is there a way to get in touch with Roger? Anyone???

In my last email to him I had mentioned that if I don't hear from him by today, I will no longer want an update on the development status of my knife. Instead, I'd want my money back.

Following through with what I said earlier:

Roger Linger, I want the $380 dollars I paid to you in Money Orders. I could care less about your lousy communication skills or your knives for that matter.

Give me back my money.

If I have to make this into a separate thread, I will.

You probably should start your own thread Stepa. I hate to say it but you might want to give the thread a.... ahem... controversial title. Maybe then your and cleaner's complaints might get the attention they deserve.

There are at least a half dozen other epic threads regarding makers who have done much the same thing that Mr. Linger seems to have done. With no response from him whatsoever, even though he has been on the forums, what are we to believe but that he has willfully done this to people?

I would sincerely like to know why this thread has not recieved the responses it deserves in the last 2.5 weeks. Anyone got any theories?

Hard to say. It might be because of the beating the last guys took for complaining about Roger taking their money and then not sending the knives, and his being impossible to get in contact with. I have seen other complaints about Roger over the last couple of years, so the problems that cleaner145 and Stepa are having don't seem to be rare occurrences.

What email have you been trying to contact Roger by? I would hate to see the miscommunication occuring by a simple email difference or something like that. I am one of those customers who had nothing but good reviews for Roger and highly respect him as a knifemaker. Maybe if you show me the email you have been using I can compare it to the one I have saved in my email account. Just hoping I can help out. Sorry to hear about your troubles friend -Damion

Keith, thank you for the PM linking this thread. I rarely stray outside 'Shop Talk' and rarely anymore even visit it. Without you Keith I would not have eventually seen this. Thanks again Keith.

TO ALL: all knives paid for are in progress and have been and will be complete and delivered. I hold no other source of employment and making them quicker would be better for me too. Unfortunately making them quicker does not make them as well. Therefore, I am slow by purpose. I beat no one out of their money. I have never. I will not. I do not give refunds. I have had a couple pull outs because of impatience with me. I have not though had anyone YET complain about what they received, save one that did ask me to correct a small spot - which I did do and to his specification. To those wishing to email: you must please use the @netzero.net address. That is the only address I have been using for over a year. Second, I work very late. I keep Dracula hours. The phone is usually disconnected upon my retiring until late afternoon hours. Best time to call is evenings to very late night. Third, I always try to respond to email but I am slow at that sometimes too. In brief summery: I am a one man operation here. So far as payment goes it has evolved from a learning experience from at very first when I asked for balance when knife was complete and ready for shipment to now when I ask for balance just as knife making is to begin. The reason for that is my lack of backup income and the FACT that when the knife is finished lots of people just don't seem to have any money right now. I can understand that easily but the electric company does not care.
