Help with my Heat treating foge plans

The anvil is great, can't say the same for myself this has been a bad year for me as well as my health hasn't been great!
I have not been able to fire mine yet like I said due to health problems but Ed swears the design is much better because it shoots the flame into a vortex (circular motion) and thus less hot spot problem!Take care Charlie.
 
I took a sword class with Don Fogg. He used sand in the bottom to get an even heat. I don't know if he still does that but it looked like a good idea to me.
