Help with neatness

Strig,

This is the first time I'm using snaps for this application. It was a response to a request by the recipient of the rig. I don't foresee doing it again. I would rather use a Sam Brown stud when I get the ability to fabricate my own. The wet forming went fairly well. The only mistake was to use the keeper strap to help mold the upper flaps to hug the handle. The back of the snap resting against the front flap left an impression. Grrrrrrrr. It is what it is. It's between coats of Montana Pitch Blend right now. When I get all the coats on I'll take some pictures.

I owe you guys some pictures. The wet forming went well but I am in the process of cleaning up the knife. When I sharpened the knife I got some nasty scratches in the blade. So I am sanding the blade out for the last time. When it is cleaned up I will take the final pics and post them.

Ugh... I feel for you man. Nothing like dinging up a finished hand rub. I've found nothing in leather work (granted I'm new at this) to match hour after hour of hand sanding a finished blade. Bleh.

Looking forward to the pics though! :)

Ok, first please forgive me for resurrecting an old thread, but at least it's my own old thread. I mentioned that I owed you guys some final pictures but never got the knife cleaned up until now. So here are the pics I owed you.

Wow very nice. Extremely clean. Looks good sir, knife and sheath. Cap and ball was a great prop for the photo too, very suitable. The three snaps should be plenty strong on the belt loop. I was gonna suggest pull the dot snaps there but I don't think they'd be needed.

That, my friend, is the Trifecta.
Knife, sheath, photo.
Well done on all counts.
