I ordered a carbon steel skillet and some extremely cheap (and inexpensive) stainless mugs - the handle on one of the mugs was not welded on at the top -- and loose at the bottom - so I popped it the rest of the way off.
it's an almost airtight nest with the Stanley pot and fits inside mt GSI mug.
I'm thinking about doing some drilling and making a mini hobo stove out of it.

Just pre-ordered a ZT 0566.

Never had a ZT but that one speaks to me. It's like mini 0560. Supposed to be quite a while before it's available, so I'm just gonna try and forget it.

that's a good lookin knife there. I've never owned a zt either, i've always appreciated the style and they seem to have a pretty substantial following. I only own a folder or 2 at the moment, if i ever look for another it may be a zt.
 
I have the ZT350. Great little knife. I was just in a passaround on the 300 and I didn't really like it. Too big too cumbersome too heavy. That is one of the elmax blades though isn't it? That should be pretty light.
 
lots of damage in bama from that storm system -- 3' diameter oaks torn out of the ground and roofs in the next county.

the storm i'm in, and getting for 48 hours. ouch. 18 inches of snow? whatev. i have the snow thrower of THE GODS. next!

it's needing my chainsaw i worry about :D
 
I've got a Primus Classic Trail Stove right now as my hiking stove, any overwhelming reasons I should spring for a Pocket Rocket too? Trying not to get it just to be a gear whore and get it 'just so I have a spare', but I kind of want one...
 
Gear whoring isn't a good enough reason?

Just got home from work, 2 ER calls and an emergency surgery today. Been awake for 22 hours. Came home and called the cops on the upstairs "neighbor." They moved in 1 week ago, already had the cops called on them multiple times, from multiple people, and been served eviction papers. I came home from work and could clearly hear their conversations through 2 walls at least 1 door and a floor.
 
Just got back a few days ago from our study trip to Geneva. It was quite interesting to see how many of those multilateral organizations work.
In the little spare time we had, I had the opportunity to visit the Victorinox store, which was quite awesome...

Pocket Rocket frequently gets less positive reviews than other small-ish stoves. Not a personal review of it mind you, just what I have seen out and around the interwebs.
 
So after getting a signature tracking #, someone picked up the package and tracking # says delivered in black water, new York... Post office said original zip code was non exsistant, started with 2 different city possibilities and now a 3rd.. just glad it finally made it and delivered!

yikes. we had an inch when I got up this morning. now it's raining.
 
I got my Pathfinder canteen cookset over the weekend. It's way overpriced, but the design is great. The execution, eh Not as sturdy as I'd imagined and the standard bottle holder sucks!
