Thanks! Pretty much neither, but the money is definitely better plus I get to be the big boss within the store haha.

I can tell ya, as the manager of a very busy grocery store, I put in more hours than any of my employees. But I only live five minutes from work, and my salary is really nice.

I have been looking for a knife that I can get my boys (5 and 4) to get them use to handling a real knife. I thought about a 14 but dont want to spend that much since I am going to grind/file down the edge so its no longer sharp. Neither of them are quite ready to handle a sharp knife yet. I mainly want them to start practicing safe handling first (plus they still could baton with it). I think I have found the perfect knife. The Mora Scout 39 Safe is a smaller knife perfect for little hands, has a blunted tip, double guard, comes in a variety of colored wooden handles and a leather sheath to boot. Here is a shot of what it looks like. I think its a perfect knife for what I want it for.

Wow! Got a link to somewhere I can get one? Thatd be perfect for my 7 year old.

Unfortunately the only place I have found the blunt tipped version is on Mora's website and you cant buy direct from them. I sent them an email earlier and will contact you as soon as I know more. I also sent a few emails to a few vendors on other forums that carry Moras. I checked Mora's site for a list of retailers but it seems that section of their website is messed up/under construction.

Ragweed Forge?

though i hear some Walmarts? have a Dr Scholes (sp) magical selection system - you stand on a 1000+ point scale, it maps your pressure zones, and you try the recommended insole, repeat until you're even? i dunno :>

The prices on those things were insane last I checked. I have a pair of merrell air cushions I got from cOLD a while back. I love those things. They completely changed the feeling of my boots.

Superfeet (green) are the best I've tried and what I use.

Thanks, il check em out. Nice lookin yaks, lemme know whatcha think. I paddled out and fished the other day, the weather's startin to turn here

I'll have to post up my kayak fishin rig

I accepted the General Manager position at one of our stores, starting a 90 day probationary period soon followed by a pay bump and benefits, pretty stoked. That means more Becker money coming soon, and maybe some college money for the kids if they behave :D

Congrats!

scooped up tickets to the gamecocks baseball game tonight! My first game of the season....i've been slackin. So pumped!

Congrats on the new position, RB! More Becker money is a good thing. Just save a little to feed that boy, it won't be long before he has a healthy appetite!

Yeah I did the pressure check thing, after you stand for a bit it directs you to one of the pairs of inserts, but they were like $60 for a set..

Glad those inserts worked out for you DJG097!

Congrats RogueBowie! buddy of mine ran a vitamin department at a grocery store, I don't envy you as a store manager... sounds like you have to put up with a LOT of crazy in that position. Good luck, more Becker $$$ is always good.

Just noticed on the BeckerHead Map that MrWhiteTailFanatic is a BeckerHead (102)---He's been banned from ESEE forums and BCUSA forums for deals gone sour---not sure if he is worthy of keeping his BH# (imho)---

We have a chance to meet Les Stroud the first week of April. He is coming to Maine for a film festival as a guest speaker and entertainment. He will be doing a book signing, Q&A with some sort of video and a full concert with his band.

Les is a hero of sorts for me and I can't wait to be a part of it.

not sure if that call is worth making yet.

he hasn't been active on BF for over a month now apparently.

haven't seen any solid post after a quick look here of him doing bad business on this forum

any Beckerheads have problems? other people can chime in later.
