Here it is ! ! ! . . The Nuclear Meltdown FBM ! ! ! . . . . Lots O' Pics!!!!

Jerry Busse [bold mine]
The Limited Edition Model features tiger hide micarta grips with a hand-applied satin finish and Zero-Edge geometry!

I'm sorry to be so ignorant about this, but I'm having trouble visualizing...

What is zero-edge geometry? Is that the same as "chisel grind", or is the geometry angle of a knife measured off the primary bevel...so zero edge would mean "no secondary bevel"?

Or is it just "no angle bevel" at all, like the roundness of a convex edge?

When one refers to a knife edge's "geometry", from what plane is the angle measured?

Thanks, guys!

Zero edge is where there is no secondary bevel. It's 100% convex and will cut like a lazer :D. I'm dying with anticipation!

Ahh I see your logic now Skunk.

Maybe I could suggest rather than some pics under your pillow you could buy a digital picture frame then download the pics onto a memory card and then have them on the pic frame. You get ones that scroll through the pics every 15secs or so. My bet is you would be the first Hog to have that.

Been thinking .....How about buy an LE and a CG and get a yet to be developed NMFSH to match the CG NMFBM that you previously bought at a wonderfully reduced price of course :foot:  :D  What say ye Boss

this might be the knife i've been looking for! it sure would be a cool second busse addition to my collection!

Man, Busse is a marketing genius, there`s a frenzy over this monster knife and everyone will pay the price. GENIUS!!!! and you make KICKASS CUTLERY :)

Well, it's a one time deal, meaning that it will not become part of the regular line-up like the Badger, Mistress, Steel Heart, etc. That means that anyone with spare cash lying around should buy one because it's a really good investment - much better than Microsoft stocks. I myself am extremely happy with my CGFBM which I use in my workshop for chopping. I think that this knife would be great if it were 3/16" or 7/32" stock. Being 1/4" will make it at least as heavy as the FBMLE which means almost impractical for field (and combat/tactical) use, unless of course you are 6' 7" and weigh three hundred pounds - then it might feel fine to lug around. For the collector this knife will be irresistable. I myself would buy it immediately if it were in a skinny version. I myself don't have the loose cash lying around for a knife that will not be an important field or workshop tool. So, I will pray that the new Busse tendency to launch thinner models like they did with the Skinny Steel Heart and the Bony Active Duty is a sign of things to come. Imagine a Skinny Nuclear Meltdown Fusion Battle Mistress - now that's a mouthful. I think that this one will be launched on the Busse Combat Site because it will probably be an all time record-breaking success, so it deserves a full-fledged sales effort. It will probably also break the record as the all time most expensive Busse knife product yet. Cheers, Alex.

 ... ...

OINK OINK OINK

It also reminds me that I am more an accumulator than a collector. :D

While it might APPEAR somewhat heavy ... remember, even this old man finds the FBMLE and the FFBMs quite easy to use as choppers. If my weak, graying frame can handle it ... :D;)

I hate to sound/be picky because this NMFBM is a nice looking knife and I'm hoping to get one BUT.......

I was REALLY hoping that the next Battle Mistress to come out would have the straight handle like the original, or better yet like the one featured on the ASH-1. Oh if this NMFBM could have only had a handle like the ASH-1. I guess then it would have been the NMBM.

Now that would have been awesome IMHO.

Reguardless, Jerry is still the Man for bringing this to us.

Yeah, I've always wondered about that thing. I'm by no means a big guy (in any way  :( :D ) and yet I've never had any trouble wielding large knives. Perhaps it's due to my life-long love and messing around with swords. The FFBM? Heavy, and wouldn't want it on my belt while backpacking, but it's not too heavy to use at all. I'd bet that at least 70 % of the hogs are bigger than me, so I don't think the weight of something like the FFBM (or the NMFBM) should be that much of an issue. Maybe some of you guys are too used to folding knives. :p

I hope it does not appear in the store tonight as I have a mandatory dinner party to attend :( .

Yeah the whole Busse line is basically built around a 1/4 in. chassis, so to speak. I think that it's a kind of normal decision that the NMFBM be 1/4 in. in the Mistress tradition. My hunch is that it will be coming out within a month and at the Busse Combat Site. It should be a great chopper and not too heavy, I'm just saying that to bring it along while hunting, hiking or on photographic expeditions will probably not be the most feasible decision. It looks like a really great product.

Dont try to fool us OP, I've seen you root your way to the trough with the big HOG's:eek:
