...this thing is more a novelty than anything else, but a cool one at that.
Looks like it might be pricey especially considering the price of just a standard FBM. Hey GP bring back some affordable stuff for a change! We ain't got Ducci or Stinx money!
When it comes to blades, I guess one man's novelty is another man's grail. For me, blade length over 18 inches begins to flirt with the excessive, but short of that, well, in my mind if you're going to build a chopper it might as well have some reach. This is the closest thing I've seen to machete-length in an INFI blade, and the "melt mods" are a wonderful refinement. Keeping the thickness down around .25" hopefully will make it no more blade-heavy at 11.5" than a 10" FFBM @ .320".
I can hardly wait to wield this baby.
Thanks, Jerry--you are so very the epitome of Da Man!

Edited just to say: What you've done with the "meltdown" treatment on the edges inside the choil is enough to bring a tear of joy to an old man's eye.
we'll see how heavy it is, but I expect it to be close to the FFBM, I hope it is more like the FBM LE instead. The FFBM is too heavy. But we'll see.
It looks like it should be an excellent blade so long as it isn't heavier than the FFBM and if it's lighter...then the more so the better....though I think it'll probably be kinda stout being convex and all don't you think? Dunno tho.
All I know is other than the SHBM, my favorite chopper to USE at least is some sort of 12'' machete....I have a couple heavy one's and a light one....the heavy ones are perfect both in reach and weight to do some chopping so long as it isn't larger than say wrist thick and do great on all the larger of the smaller stuff. Just did an incredible amount of tree trimming with a SHBM and a 12'' bladed S7 Machete (with a convex/scandi edge) the Machete is slightly lighter than the BM and is about 1/8'' thick, maybe slightly moreso.
The SHBM is a sweet knife, but sometimes I find myself wanting a chopper with that extra couple inches or so that isn't a Machete and a Busse would be perfect!
I hope I don't have to start training just to handle the damn thing though
I'll go for a CG and a LE if for nothing else, the novelty of having a friggin destroyer and a pretty knife to keep with my "Precious 1/300" in the safe.
Well, I hate to bring in the Rats, BUT...
I was thinking this thing might compete with the Rat Daddy for my best/longest/most comfortable chopper... Flame on, but the Rat Daddy is as light and fast as a SHBM with a handle that fits me way better (no pinky troubles), plus a little extra blade length.
If I could have one in INFI (and even better if convexed), oh yeah
(of course, if they recurved it like a mojo/mofo or silent knight, even better)
My Rat Daddy is worth $400?![]()
