Here she is. My first Sebenza

Actions a bit stiff so it needs broken in a bit other than that it fits my hand much better than the large sebenza did. The ebony inlays are nicer than what i expected. I mean ridiculously nice. This knife surprised me and I love that ☺

I bought my first Sebenza (a large Insingo with CF scales) and I was honestly a little disappointed. After reading about their razor sharp, Appleseed ground edges and super smooth actions since the mid-'90s I guess I was expecting perfection. My Insingo came dull as a butter knife and took a huge amount of effort to open/close.

How is yours? I've always wondered if I just got a dud or if they're all like that.

The action is smooth just needs broken in. And its sharp. Took hair off my face

Thanks guys! Owning one and already cutting a few things with it shows me how silly the price arguments are over these knives. Hopefully it loosens up quickly. Shoukd I take it apart and grease it even thoug its new?

If you do be extremely sparing with the grease-too much grease will bog down the action and isn't needed

Congratulations, I really like the ebony inlays!!!!!!
It won't hurt a thing to take it down, that's why you get the tools to do it with. What I've done in the past to make a new one a little better during the break in period is to either loosen up a tad on either the pivot or the stop pin screw. Back it off and just snug it back up. That will give you an idea of how it comes from the factory.

Enjoy! Unless you have experience taking apart knives, I'd leave it alone and use it. Nothing worse than sending a new knife back to the factory for a pinched washer...

If a little torque on the stop pin screw tightens blade travel doesn't that mean the stop pin is a tad too short? I know on my 25 both the pivot & the stop pin can't be tight at all. I would think a slightly longer stop pin could be tightened more without effecting the pivot.

On my 25 they even include loktite because you have to leave the pivot so loose. Seems like sloppy QC or no?

Quick Release Lube, has needle tip, barely any will have any knife smooth. Thanks for sharing those ebony pics!

Congrats to you! I remember my first one in ATS 34. Back then they did not offer the inlays and such as an option. Had they offered one like this I would have went with that. =)
