Whew Andy, that is a sweet looking shooting machine! I do a little IDPA with my SIG, what are you competing in?

Falcon, I used to shoot a lot of IDPA and USPSA when I lived in FW, but I moved about a year ago and don't get to shoot competitively anymore.

That pistol is for USPSA Limited division. When I shot IDPA, I mostly shot Glocks, Glock 17, 34, and 21.

This is by far my favorite handgun. The Springfield Armory .45 Operator. I've had more .45's than I can remember and this is the one I should have never let go. After a few performance upgrades, it was the best .45 I ever owned. These aren't my pictures. I stole 'em off the intardweb.

I am gun sick and have a favorite gun for just about any occasion.

I like shooting my reloads out of my modifed Kimber Grand Raptor but the gun is too large for comfortable carry even though I do have some handsome Garrity gun leather for it.

I am on the search for a Brown Bobtail Special Forces to fix that.

Shooting 9mm out of my Colt 1911 9mm is even more fun but that gun is too perfect and original to shoot it much.

I prefer revolvers for carry such as my S&W 586 L-comp (a more affordable option to a Colt Combat python) or my Colt 38 special. But, I mainly carry a Colt Government .380.

I'd have to say the S&W is probably my favorite gun but each has its place in my conservative interests.

Glock 21 with Triji-Con sights, Brooke's Tactical A-Grip, Deep 6 Comp grip plug, factory extended slide stop and my trigger job. I carry it just about everywhere. I definately like some of the 1911's pictured on here, so thanks all!

Heres a couple of my babies:

Just like knives, its hard to pick a favorite!!! Each one is special for its own reasons!!:)

Rekut,
How is it to put a lot of rounds through that Wilson? The checkering on the front strap of some that I have handled has been deep enough that it felt like it would make shooting uncomfortable after a few dozen rounds. Just curious as to what has been your experience.

IMHO the checkering is a great option. The CQB and my Baer have 30 LPI checkering and it is not too aggressive. It is just enough to give a good grip. Some 1911's have 20LPI checkering and they remind me of a meat grinder, they can get very irrritating after a couple of hundred rounds, but the 30 LPI is perfect. I like all my 1911's to have the frontstrap done.

I tried to find a better pic of the checkering but this is all I could find. I hope it helps.

I have a Ruger .357 for home protection. Its a sweet gun, but not really carryable due to it weighing a LOT. My problem with buying a new handgun is that I like every one I look at. I want to get something lighter, but just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Maybe too late now. $ is short, and things aren't looking up for me getting one after 1/09.

Damn - I love threads like this!!! I'll post my favorite's I have.

My Every Day Carry Piece and go to gun -

Brian, nice collection. I have a question, what can you tell me about this S&W Revolver? I was recently handed down one almost identical but don't know as much about revolvers as semi-autos. I have not taken any pics yet, but about the only difference on mine is it has wooden grips, and is maybe a little bit older than yours.

Open up the cylinder and look just inside the swing gate. You will see a model number of your gun. Google that and you will find too much to read :)
