This was one of those days at work when I spent a brief moment reflecting on how lucky I am. So few people these days truly enjoy their work, and this was one of those days when I would have happily worked for free.
This was taken in 2006 near the summit of a mountain called Ruten , in the Espedalen region of Norway, about 60km NW of Lillehammer. An almost perfect day, about -20c and blue sky.
Here is a photo from another one of my "moments", this time while working in Peru in 2003.
The mountain in the background is one of four active volcanos in Peru, this one is called Tutupaca. I am sitting at about 5050m elevation and the volcano rises up to about 5800m. It still spews out steam.
And this one was a photo taken with my first digital camera, a 0.7 megapixel Nikon Coolpix, it took terrible photos, but I always like this one. Anyone who spends a lot of time hiking may appreciate the type of relationship one develops with a pair of their favourite hiking boots. This photo was taken in Greenland in 2000, I hiked thousands of kilometers in these boots, and this is right where they should be, on my feet, planted on terra firma.
