I'm wondering if the BCCI Smokey Mt. Heritage set is out yet. Has anyone gotten theirs? Any comments or photos? Who won the Proto door prize? (I'm still waiting for mine, but I assume it will be coming in due course.)

110dave won the set at the BCCI meeting. I saw a set at the show and they are very nice. I have some on order. May be Larry Oden will let us know when they will ship.

I'm with you Wolf -- I want to see mine in my hand . If you get yours before I get mine I'll turn green . DM ;)

They were giving out the knives at the meeting. I got my 532 Heritage on the first night. They were also selling some, just in case you wanted to buy more.

My guess is they are all made, I assume you have to be patient to get yours.

They also had a raffle for a Painted Pony Heritage set, 1 of a kind set. Super set, I wonder what that set is worth? Of course if I had won that, I would of kept it.

the heritage set is nice
i bought two a 112 and a 110
the fit and finish is fantastic ...
while green is not my 1st choice it is nice on these
the single knives were selling good and i think they will sell out soon!
esp the 110's and 532's as they are sweet!
i dont know how the sets were selling but
if i had the extra i would have bought a
complete set.. as there are ONLY
100 available ..

i never would have guessed i would win the proto set!
i was not even paying attention and
clint said 3 times that dave that is your number!
i even took the ticket up to make sure!
some times it is your day ... :D

I carried my one heritage knife today. I will admit it has a green tone to it, I would call the color more light brown. My 532 has red spacers by all 4 bolsters. I think the red spacers help with the overall look. I don't know what the spacers are made of.

While the 532 is as long as the 500, it is lighter and smaller in feel. It fits in my pocket pretty well without a sheath.

Peter, Have you cut anything with it yet ? How does it feel during use ?
I wore out my P. O. Box key looking for mine . The Postmaster had to take my phone # and assure me that he'd call should he recieve a package to me from Postfalls, ID. just so
I'd leave the building . DM ;)

Has any body gotten one of these yet ? OUr newsletter said delivery would be August . DM

All,
John Foresman is shipping the Heritage set knives and has been covered up with work ever since he returned home from Pigeon Forge. He will ship them as soon as he can. Please give him a bit of forbearance. There are a few left in each category including sets. One of the neat things about these knives is that they are not just super collectable but they also make for tremendous using knives given their s30v steel and micarta inlays. I agree that the red vulcanized paper trim really gives them a classic look.

I went back and re-read the ad in the last two newsletters and found it did not state 'August delivery' nor did it state everyone who attended the BCCI Smokey Mountain event would get theres during the event . It was not like guaranteed either way . So, if we get them in Sept. be happy . DM

I'm happy and really in no hurry to get it. Good things are worth waiting for. I was just curious and looking forward to it. :)

Interesting....when I read your post David, I went back and looked at the order form from the Club News: The VERY first sentence reads "...Just in time for distribution at our Smoky Mountain Rendezvous in Tennessee, August 4-7, 2010"

I took that to mean an August delivery?

Peter

Peter, Yes I took that to mean for those guys that attended the event . Because later in the ad under Option 1 . It reads " I understand the "pick-up" discount is entirely contingent upon the knives being available at that time ..." I'm sure we'll be getting them soon and can handle the nice babies . DM
