Heritage Set

I'm really beginning to regret my decision not to order any of these. Bad choice on my part I think. :(

I was surprised you passed too. You'd been spending to much time down at the Harley Davidison shop hadn't you???:D:D

:o Yeah, that must be it.:) I did just get an answer from Jack and I'm mailing off a check tomorrow for a 110 and a 500.

:)
The color of the linen is not uniform. There are light and dark areas, as I see on photos others have posted here. I assume that it is a function of the material and its properties, since the scales are very smooth and well crafted. A perfectly even color would be a real show piece, but I didn't buy mine for show.

Funny thing, when I first took the knife out of the box, that variance in color was definitely there. I have since taken the knife outdoors into the sunlight and now getting it back indoors, the light to dark variations are hardly noticeable. I wonder if there is some photo sensitivity with the color pigment.

Anyway, I like the scales, the color and linen texture. It reminds me of the heavy canvas wall tents we had in camp.

I'd find it hard to believe that there wont be a few extras made. Look at number of previous years knives that are available in the last newsletter. Anyone want to loan me a couple grand so I can buy them.....and by loan I mean without expectation of repayment:D:p

Plumber, You'll really like the 500 Duke . I've been carrying mine and using it . I really like it . Its about the smallest knife I'll carry but it seems to suit my needs well . Cut open some meat packages, milk cartons, peeled a peach and sliced up an apple today with it . It did this well . So, I can see we'll get along fine . I like carrying it in my watch pocket . The canvas micarta lends a good grip . I'll keep using it and give updates along . DM
