Here in lil' ol' Belgium knife laws are very strict - only a manual, NON-LOCKING (!imagine that!) folder is allowed to be carried. At home however, you can keep a more extended collection but even then if you have more then one piece of any kind, you can be prosecuted. It's then called a "weapons-storage".
It has to be said that justice is rather leniant towards well-motivated carriage of knives.
Use of police-force is strictly monitored and over here we don't call it "confiscation" if it's not legal and motivated in official documents but we call it "theft".
