INSTANT LOVE!

I love everything about that slip joint! The color of the scales, the engraving on the bolsters!

Pearl, with the inlaid shield!

Thanks for sharing.

Normally, my favorite pearl handles are checkered, and usually with lots of pins.

The engraving on these is eye popping!
Two of my favorite knifemakers use quite a bit of MOP, thought I would share some examples here.
First several from Jerry Fisk:

And a few from Steve Johnson with Added beauty from the art of Barry Lee Hands.

I was a bit hesitant to post these after seeing such awesome work but what the hey. This has a little history to it as well. It all started with what do you do with your damasteel off cuts ? I know I'll make a necker. My wife took a shine to it so I gave it to her for her birthday. All good, scored points with that one. I was going to a show and I was a bit lean on work to show, so I asked if I could take it with me and I did. I had a lot of enquiries about it and put an absolutely ridiculous price on it. Well you know how things go !!!
Well I got the rounds of the kitchen for that and still am from time to time. We wont be doing that again, will we?

Keith F,

Will not comment on the miniature, but the cutoff piece in the first photo is pretty cool, and you are an absolute dick for selling your wife's knife without her permission.

Make her another and let her keep it. It looks like something that I would like to own.

Best Regards,

I had her permission to take it, just didn't think it would sell at the price I had on it, and yes I have replaced it along with a pair of diamond earings.

That has happened to me a bunch.....it's a mixed blessing, to say the least.

Well done on the repentance.:D

Here is one with three different types of pearl . . . and not just in the handle, but in the spine of the blade, too.
