I'll be going after some piggies here soon and I'll be dispatching them with an RC-6.

The 3 will be along for the messy part.

Damn all of you. Damn myself for listening. Just ordered a RC-3 OD blade, Orange grip. Wanted a OD blade without orange grips but seems like no one has them at a reasonable price. Guess I will learn to love the color scheme.

I just returned from Quebec, butchering several bears (mine and helping my friends with theirs), with my RC-4. It does a superb job although I confess I tend to use use my Helle Fjellman as the skinner on a nice hide, it having a skinning blade and all. :) By the way, I also consider the 4 to be the best all-around camp and survival knife. I head into deep woods with only the two blades above and of course my ever present Benchmade Mini-barrage with me for knives and feel quite secure. I dropped the BK9. Too heavy.

Last year I used my RC3 to field dress two doe. It did fine but I felt the blade was to tall to be honest. For deer I prefer a smaller blade and will go back to my Buck 102 Woodsman for field dressing. I like my RC's but not a first choice for field dressing deer.

I haven't hunted for decades but I have been thinkin' about getting back into it as part of my disaster preparedness plan. If I do, the RC-4 will be on my side.

Ditto this. For me thou I will have my RC-3, TAK (or Gossman Kephart) and most likely my Gossman PSK (or Izula). Will probably try one then the other til I find a combo that works for me.

Cabela's Buck Vanguard. Sweet hunting knife. That is what I will have.

Are you planning on killing them with the RC-6? If this is the case, you do see the irony of your post? Your name being shottgunner and all:D

The last few deer I've cleaned have been with a Gerber Gator, didn't have any fixed blades till this year. Now I can chose between a Mora, Scrapyard S5, and a Dave Farmer drop point, but I think I'll use all three.

I know me... I usually have a backpack on me when I head to the deer stand.
RC4 on my side, RC3 and small Eddie White (Shadow Knives) in my bag.
