So what are we going to do about this series of baseball games starting this week end?

.

Should we put some coffee on it?

I'm pulling for the upset, but I don't think the Giants have a chance unless they can stretch it to game 7, with Lincecum winning three of the four.

BTW- If I see you getting your cat drunk one more time I'm calling PETA!

edit- scratch that...I'm pulling for the favorite, it just hit me that the Phillies will stand a better chance at beating those D*** Yankee's!

I'm also not really a big fan of any professional sports team either...

...But did you say COFFEE??? ...Cool, man! Yer ON!! :D:thumbup:

How's about the weight of 2 Off Duty's worth of some of your favorite beans up against the same amount of mine on the outcome of this National League Championship Series? ...Sound good? :) (That's like 2 pounds, right? ;))

Do you have a coffee grinder? And not one of those things that has spinning blades, you need to have a burr grinder.

The best place here won't sell anything but whole beans.

No, not yet... just a cheap blade grinder which will be replaced with a burr grinder soon, as it's on its last leg. I like my coffee beans ground almost to dust anyway, so it ain't that same but does taste almost as good.

In addition to supplying several upscale restaurants, Martinez does mail order (they are based in Atlanta). Very tasty beans, which they roast in small batches just prior to shipping. Although they will grind them if requested, they prefer not to. :)

Where did you get that triple threat patch in the upper right corner and are there more?!

They were at BLADE this year. :) ...And I honestly don't know. Might be worth giving the lovely ladies at Busse a call to check. I was hoping that they'd make it to the Store so I could get a few more, myself.

A few people emailed me about the espresso machine in the photos. It is a good machine but there are better machines out there. I think that for the money Quick Mill makes the best ones at 1400-1800.

This will be my next one.

Now drink up and post in the folder death chat :D

Nice machine! ...But the way I drink coffee, I'd be standing in front of it all day refilling that little cup. Do they make one for 20oz mugs??? ;):D

Good God!!!

How do you make coffee anyway?

With hot water poured into ground coffee & strained through a filter... How do you make it? ;)

Actually...I have this coffeemaker that I have a love/hate relationship with. It makes a fairly decent cup of coffee, and that I love, but I really #&%!*$#% hate the damned thing. Leaks, drips, spills, stalls, jams, overflows, and generally pisses me off... I have to stand over it to make sure it "behaves". It's a Bunn, for anyone who's curious and would like to avoid the hassle of owning the worst.

If anyone here can recommend a great coffeemaker that can handle finely ground coffee without overflowing the filter basket, consistently makes a great tasting pot, and uses a stainless steel thermos style carafe or pot instead of a glass pot with a hotplate (I hate burnt coffee)...I'd love to hear about it.

Other than espresso the best coffee I have ever had is from a french press. OK don't panic they are not really french. But the coffee is ground coarsely and you just kind of let it soak in there for a while.

They are cheap and simple.

I know what you mean. ;)
...I've never tried one, but might have to give it a shot. The funny thing is that the best coffee that I've ever had came from my cheapie plastic Krups cone filter coffeemaker. It worked beautifully every time and the coffee was consistently great. Too bad they don't make it anymore...which is why I tried this Bunn.

Well that game was a surprise! I was thinking that the Giants would have been fortunate to win one game of this series.

Of course I missed the game because I was at a wedding yesterday and got home at 5:00 this morning. Reminds me of Blade
