Hey Moose!

Moose, I'm floored to hear that your activities for Becker and KA-BAR are all pro-bono: I had always assumed that you got some sort of stipend. That is dedication that few people would be willing to bring to bear. As a beneficiary of both your success in facilitating the ultra-fun Beckerhead community as well as your generosity with the free knives that KA-BAR sends you, I extend my heartfelt thanks.

It's also really interesting to see little hints as to Ethan Becker's career in knives. I've always wondered how the heck he's managed to make a living based upon the design or co-design of a handful of knives, but regardless it's really nice to hear that at least now it seems to be paying off.

none of the mods get any payment from KaBar... or Ethan, per se. we have their friendship and gratitude, and sometimes we get some goodies, sometimes. no free ride.

i started doing it originally for Ethan's benefit, because he's my bud that i'm stalking :) and i know he's non-technical, and someone needed to mod this here thing. it's a lot of work... those FAQs and such didn't spring from the sky fully formed. keeping the spammers and trolls out... that becomes tedious.

so when i started thinking i needed help, Guyon was a natural thought due to his large collection, interest level, and expertise, and we had a few other people who were QUITE vocal about Beckerdomination... Moose of course being quite obvious. so about the time i suggested it to Ethan, he suggested it to me. awesome. Moose has done considerable work. indeed. Guyon has also been quite instrumental. gives me a chance to kick back and concentrate on the technical/etc. much kudos to the both.

course, i'm really jealous that Moose and Guyon live so close to the MAN. gives them more access and facetime and goodness. also inside information :) i'm the last to know these days. drat ;>

KaBar was really great to us mods in the last year, what with the booth and Blade show and getting us, and you all passes. good times. good support.

as well, KaBar has given me a couple boxes of contest knives, which flow out to winners. currently, i've got five BK5 Magnum camps awaiting owners as contest fodder. dozens of other knives have gone out in various ways. i'm esp fond of giving out knives in person. more fun that way. my prize warthog from Blade was a random prize. other things from the collection have been known to secretly go out. it makes for happy people :)

hopefully, your mods can serve you well in the now and future, and provide lots of goodness for you all.
