......Thank you sir for all the time and information you share with us on a daily basis. There are other contributors we all know who generously share their information with us and we often thank them and deservedly so. But I don't think you get the appreciation you deserve for the enormous amount of time you spend keeping all of us headed in the right direction.

Great thread i4Marc. I too would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for the sharing of your knowledge, wisdom, kindness, time, and effort.

I have shared this little tidbit of my weirdness with you (Stacy) before but I will share it with everyone in light of this thread. While reading various peoples posts, I tend to hear them, in my minds "ear", in the voices of celebrities or just voices that I know. Stacy I hear in the voice of Sean Connery. Appropriate I think. Probably influenced by his Scottish heritage and the confidence in which both present info. Without matching names up, many of the regular posters have their own voice in my head. There's Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken, Pres Clinton, Joe Pesci, Keenu Reeves, Bruce Willis, Gilbert Gottfried, the late Sam Kenison. Well the list goes on. I do it without thinking and then figure it out later. Makes for a fun reading experience.

I also would like to thank the masses that hang out here and give us all glimpses of your work and personal lives. The amount that I have learned here is amazing. One of the biggest things that has stuck out to me is the open sharing of this knowledge, with little regard to competitiveness or protection of one's product. Even when that product is one's lively hood. Andy of Fiddleback Forge really comes to mind in this aspect, among others. So a big thanks to the BF community and especially the Shop Talk guys. You have all had a big influence on me.

Amen to all of that. Stacy....thanks SO much for the help you have given me over the past few years. There are a few "go-to" guys on this forum, and you are certainly one of them. You are always very helpful and knowledgeable about damn near everything, and so willing to part with what you have figured out over the years. The REAL most interesting man in the world! Would love to meet you and shake your hand some day, and chit chat over a few drinks!

Stacy is definitely a mentor. Between private messages, responses to my threads and reading all his posts Stacy (and many others who deserve recognition) has driven my growth as a craftsman.

Hear hear! I too raise my glass to Stacy. His comments are not only spot on but articulate. I appreciate his dedication to this forum! He has added greatly to my new found passion of knife making

Three cheers for Stacy. He has gone out of his way to answer my questions and I truly appreciate it. He is a great leader for our section in Bladeforums(and BF in general)

Have learned so much from Stacy in his replies to my questions and when I'm searching all the great past posts! Thanks!!!

I have often wondered when you have time to make knives, or sleep for that matter. You are an amazing wealth of knowledge and I thank you.

I also have to thank Stacy !!! Count me in ! I only started a few weeks ago but she's been giving me her feedback from the start ! Thanks again !

Heh heh she...

Stacy, I know you already know how much I appreciate you. I'm glad this was posted because, I too, believe that we should celebrate those that have been so giving of their energy.

I would love to buy you a coffee (I don't drink) if I could.

I get this all the time.

Cute story;
When I went to Junior High School, I always got put in girls Health/PE classes because the assignment was done by your first name. Believe it or not, there was no box to mark on the student card for sex. Back then, Stacy was how a girl spelled the name, and Stacey was the boys spelling. Anyway, I would go to the office the first day of school to get my schedule changed. When I moved up to Granby High School, I figured that they would have things modernized, but Nooooo....I was assigned to Home Economy and Girls PE. At 14 I was already testosterone fueled, so I figured I would have some fun, and went to the girls class. The teacher asked me what I was doing there, and I told her I was in her class. She said, "No you aren't!", and I said, "Yes, I am." and showed her my schedule. She looked at me like I was crazy. I made it worse by asking, "When we have gym, should I use the girls locker room, or the boys?" All the girls laughed and giggled. The teacher was not amused at all....and sent me to the office to get my schedule changed. I had to take boys gym and health classes, but in my sophmore year, I took Home Ec. for the fun of it. I ran the projector ( most classes were on film), and was already a good cook and seamstress ( My mother and grandmother were both good seamstresses, and taught me starting at a very early age), so the teacher loved me. When all the girls made a dress for the spring dance as their year end project, I made a black and white Nehru Jacket and wore it with a big peace sign medallion I made in my work shop.

Thanks for all the kind works, fellows ( and any gals).

I really promise, the book is coming.

I laughed at Marin's post but I thought the same thing when I joined.

Thank you so much for the wealth of knowledge you provide for damn near ( a mans gotta sleep;) ) every question that gets asked here. You give and tolerate so much here (although we are begining to see your tipping point with bigboy:D ) that I hope you know you're very much appreciated.

Nice story and great pics Stacy. You know, with the passing of John White and now the tragic loss of Gordon Dempsey as well as others in our lives we've lost too soon I thought the time to say it was now. I don't mean to suggest that you're going anywhere Stacy, perish the thought. But all the kind words after the fact don't really do much. The time to let people know you appreciate them is while you still have them. So I just wanted to let you know that you are making a difference in our lives. Thanks again.

I've said it numerous times on here but what the hell I'm a fanboy anyway :D. Stacy is a huge asset to this forum and probably the main reason I actually started making knives . When I first joined I asked a TON of questions on here almost every day for a while. Finally he must have gotten enough of me and offered to send me some things to get started and cut out a blank for me along with his how to instructions on making a knife before they were a sticky. I guess I got to be such a pain in the ass with my questions he finally decided to say "here hush up and go make a knife" lol. Seriously though I'm positive without his input and help along with a few builds I've done I would've been miles behind where I am (not that I make a ton of knives). Unfortunately at the moment I have a few things going on that has and probably will take me out of the shop for a while but I still like to pop in here almost daily and lurk and/or post whatever little I can. I'll probably never be able to thank Stacy enough for the help that he has given me but he has been a HUGE help to me. I've said it before and I'll say it again THANK YOU STACY, you're a class act and I'm grateful for all that you've done for me and the information you selflessly provide to the members on here daily.
