HI Karambit

you have pictures? I don't think they are to be had but I would like to see what you are talking about !

That's a Philipine Karambit on the bottom. Nasty, nasty weapon in the right hands or perhaps wrong hands.

I actually did several redesigns of the original koster designed HI karambit a few years back, now called the C-Bit. The C model was the only one to make it into production. I gave it the curve a karambit should have IMHO. They come up for sale here every now and then, although you can never tell when.

The HI karambit comes up on DOTD now and then, or you could email Yangdu and sometimes she has one in stock.

There have been two or three slightly different models of HI karambit. Slightly different lengths, slightly different curvatures on the handle. The following link has photos of two of the designs. I think the larger, more curved design is the one that has been available more recently. As usual with knives made by HI kamis, it is beefier than most non-HI karambit designs such as the nice one posted by Bawanna above.

This particular knife is just beautiful in a black buffalo horn handle, but I've also seen it in antler and various kinds of wood.

That's not my karambit. Wish it was, but now I'm gonna work on Karda, I want that C-bit sooooooo bad! The Al Mar bowie is mine now. The fella that sent the bowie also had the karambit. Offered me either one. He suggested I'd get more use out of the bowie. It just arrived yesterday in fact. 7 days after it was shipped 2nd day priority insured. I love the post office.

I continue to be very blessed when it comes to blades. Look that Al Mar up and see what they go for. I nearly fainted. It's a damn nice knife. A gift I'm truly not worthy of and one that folks on my side of the tracks rarely get to behold let alone own.

The Khukrambit is awesome. I've had a couple of variations over the years. One was in my coat pocket on my wedding day:D I just got done making a new sheath for one I got a couple or three years back. Formidable yet graceful. One of my top 5 HI products for sure.

I think a post like that requires photos Steely. Even though the they will no doubt torture those such as I who don't have an HI Khukrambit.

Might have to email Auntie and see if she happens to have one around.

Got a birthday next month, maybe wife won't slap me around too bad if I can score one. That one Karda has just dazzles me.

I'll get some posts up when I find what box it's in:D We're moving out of our old house this weekend but don't get possession for another week...sooooo, it might be a bit before I find the 'bit;)

I'll get some pics up though:)

Beautiful for sure but I like the tip going more down, just like on the original karambit which Bawanna posted.
It's just about how a Karambit is used. More for ripping like a claw and not much forward thrusting. Might still get the HI version. How much do they tend to go for?

Berkley,
It looks huge on your picture. What are the dimensions? Can I hang it from my neck?
Thank you.

This can give you an idea of what kind of size they are next to some standard size HI offerings

The siru to the left of it is 20"
The one at the very bottom left is 12"
The BDC above it is a 10.5" model
