HI khukuri convention -- Reno, Atlantis Hotel and Casino, Aug. 26 & 27. Info!!!!!!!!

A reminder from the Range Officer...do handle the khukuris in a safe manner. And remember that too many drinks and khukuris do not necessarily mix well. In any case, have a great time in two weeks!

Quite right, Harry. I can imagine it occurring to me with a dazzling flash of brilliance that us all playing mumblety-peg with the khuk of our choice should be one of the main events of the Khonvention.

( After downing about the third or fourth straight shot of 151 proof Demarara Rum, that is. Come to think of it, it sure is odd how those terrific ideas I used to get just happened to stop occuring right about the time I cut way back on my drinking. You don't suppose the one had anything to do with the other... nah!!! )
 
I am not sure if this is still the norm but in days gone by during the Dasein festival when a lot of drinking and gambling was going on all khukuris in military camps were put under lock and key. And, that ain't gonna work at the HI convention so we will have to exercise good judgment and watch both alcohol level and our fingers!

I think we are all old enough to have enough sense to get the job done.

Yep. One week from today at this time (about 9AM Reno) the Atlantis folks will be unlocking Tradewinds 3 and bringing in ice and water.

Try to bring a big cup coffee or tea or juice with you -- your morning fix whatever it might be. If we have to call room service they will bust us pretty good. I figure a cup of coffee from room service will run 4 or 5 bucks.

And, now that I have to take over John's duties, we will have to pay for our meeting room cost, first thing. I am not sure of the final cost but I think it is around $100 per day. So, if we get 15 people it will be 6 or 7 bucks each per day which is not all that bad.
