A friend here locally said he was going up to pick up his wife at the airport Saturday, too late to drive back to Hawthorne, and called around to be told if any rooms were left they were only renting for 3 nights ( fri., sat., sun. )cause this weekend was the national air races. And at triple the rates. He did eventually get one night for 1.5 times the regular rates.

You are probably OK if you made, and guaranteed your reservation. but I'd suggest hitting the place you're lodging and paying for your room first. If you are driving in, Carson City or Fernley probably have some rooms still open - a 30/45 minute drive away.

Do I know what I'm doing? Not yet. When will I know? I hope I remember afterwards. See some of you miscreants soon, Rusty.

I will be in town around 0730 - 0800 hrs. on sat.,is it o.k. if I hang out with you till the convention starts? If you will still be sleeping, them I'll just check out the Atlantis casino area. See all of you there. Do we have a final list yet?

Darn I wish I could go to every one of these and meet every body but I can't.Eleven years ago,when I bought that first Khukuri form Bill I never thought HI could ever last this long, let alone have a Khuk gathering.You can bet I'll be thinking about all of you.Have a drink for me,take a lot of pics,have fun,be safe(someone bring a first aid kit just for yucks).Can't wait for the Florida gathering.

I wish I could be with you folks as well. I'll have to content myself with using some khuks on vacation at camp this coming week.

As far as I can tell we are ready. We will have Vikash, Yangdu, Chokpa, me, and Lance Strong as HI reps. Lance is a ten year customer and nephew and has written articles about khukuris and HI. He has been here before and knows his way around and will arrive Friday nite by car to start work. He will be taking pix as part of his duties and our activities will probably end up as an article in a magazine -- or several articles in several magazines if I know Lance.

I have had a couple of offers to help us but I think we have enough to handle things but many thanks to those who offered! Many hands make little work but too many hands make work impossible.

We will have somebody there at 9AM to open up and we will have somebody there until 8 PM closing.

Watch yourselves on your journey! Safety first.

I wish that I could join you for sure. But, with 5 and one on the way, finances don't allow me to get out there! I'm kinda' hoping to plan a 'Vacation' for the family around the winter gathering in Florida. "Gee Honey, I just found out that there is some sort of Khukuri meeting down the street, do you mind if I go down there for a few minutes? (hehehe VBEG

Brother Mohd, I've been negligent in responding to your last letter, also. Have been in a situation where I was shorted on sleep last couple of months. That's changing. Getting what I need to done today, then try to catch up on sleep this afternoon so I can make it thru tomorrow.
