HI smatchet

I spoke with Auntie about having some Valas like Davids made. She thinks it is a good idea, but will have to see what Kami can take on the job.

Just to let you know to save up your pennies. Yangdu has turned in an order for a few of these sher style spear valas.
Shooting for 18" and 28oz or less. I hope we see them soon. Post here if you are definitely in for one, so she can have an idea of how many to make. Otherwise this order will likely be a small trial order.

I am in for one!

definitely in for one--- will pay ahead of time if I need too-- would def buy two, wood and horn -- I think if you needed the money up front to determine this order, you could probably get it as it amounts to a custom already unless she makes 50 or so :D

Do we have a ballpark figure for cost? I'd love one, but situation depending I need to keep some money on hand for when the Scara Suga gets made, and perhaps save some for this as well.

With the non-kukri knives...does the length still mean OAL (most likely), or refers only to the blade size by any chance?

gonna guess OAL-- looking forward to this, and moon are you in aus? or one of those country that calls 2 edges a deadly weapon?

Good'ol boring Europe rather (Central-Eastern, not that it makes a difference). I can have whatever I want in my home as long as it's not shooting bullets. But when it comes to sharp things, I better not get caught with anything over a nail clipper outside (well, the law says "anywhere where I could endanger someone's life or integrity"...whatever that is...I'd say, and Police says it's "public settings"), unless I have a good justification for carrying it (I'm a hunter / LEO / practicing a sport like fencing). So I could carry something in the woods, but better not get caught until I get there :D (good thing is, woods are close-by).

Oh, and even single-edged kinves will be called weapons; the Post office is the worst. Hence the reason I am not getting any knife unless I'm in US or someone brings it here for me. OTOH, I can buy a knife and if I'm "caught" carrying it home I have a good case. And the Post will deliver knives from sellers that are companies. I'm done trying to understand the mentality here, and pretty much I've seen the same rules in several countries here.

Gehazi, please be honest...you were trying to get rid of one shark...weren't you? :D

lol never!!! I love sharks as it means more money for the company I love almost as much as my own :D; money for HI is good, I don't care where it comes from as long as kami and auntie live well off of it :D

I think all the knife rules in europe came from hooliganism? just a guess-- and I always love details about anything other than medical procedures and illnesses :D

When we talk HI blades, figures are always in OAL's.
No idea on price yet, heck, Auntie usually doesn't know until she gets them in hand, can inspect them and figure in production costs.

Well, hooliganism tends to be the "asset" of a few countries in Europe. It could be a factor, though. But far too many countries have something against knives, to blame it all on that.

I would say that Communism did a very good job as well at:
a) taking weapons away from civilians (along with pretty much every possession);
b) vilifying these objects.

If you play that little game where you pick the word out of the group that don't belong with the other words it would go something like this.

Himilayan Import Product---------bawanna-----------"No"-------------------

It's quite obvious "No" does not belong in this group.

This concludes our English as a second language lesson for today.

Ok, I just went back and found pictures, it's not a No, it's a heck no! I want one very badly.

I'll start listing body parts for sale soon. Every shark for himself.
