HI Villager Farm Knife by New Kami Tirtha

Too funny Rick, too funny... :)

I guess I get excited sometimes. Now who knows? I might regret it if I can't afford it. :(

So I'll sell something!

Well.I think there is a wood handled one and a horn handled one in this first batch...
My sight unseen email was for the wood, so... :)

But with the out poring of desire posted here in just a short time, no doubt more have already been asked for by Auntie.

Regret??? No way. We can all afford one...eventually.

Tirtha is doing killaconcept, Jaymo and Rambo proud. Thanks to all but the last.

WOW! These came out looking sharp! (pun totally intended :))
I feel really honored that my design was picked up! These look amazing and I definitely have to take back my comment about the scale forge in the design thread - I couldn't imagine having it any other way now that I see the actual model. The blade looks rugged and practical while still seeming very elegant!

I better start setting money aside for one - it's a good thing the first two have probably already been accounted for as I'd be spending cash that I just don't have! :p

I like it!
-and I can use it!

A lot of the non-khuk HIs I've picked up over the years have been for "collection" interest only. I can already think of several occassions when I would have loved to have had one of these, and many more where I can definitely use one. :)

That looks good...

Whats the price range for one? I'm thinking of a Dharwood handle with total length of 20-22 inches.

Another thing, I think killa's drawing is less curved and pointier with a handle that is wider at the butt. Can the kamis refine it more?

I probably would like it a little less curved and wider at the butt. That said, I'd be perfectly happy with it just the way it is. I'm just glad to see my idea and killa's drawing come to fruition.
So, Auntie, are you going to send one to me for field testing?:D Please? Don't make me beg.

I can see splitting cane and bamboo, butchering big game, chopping chicken and small game, with this knife. The curve would be great for imparting a rocking motion, like a pizza knife. I bet I could cut up a lot of veggies in a hurry with it. Could even use it like an Ulu.
That blade curvature should be great for debarking wood prior to chopping it with a Khuk for use in my smoker.

Oh, PLEASE Auntie Yangdu, say that you're going to send one to me for testing.
I'm drooling already. You know I want one.

Well, I think I was told the supply of Dhar that the kamis have access to is exhausted.
I am as sad about this as you likely will be when you read this too.

Of course, they may have gotten more or I may be wrong (I do tend to space out things and be mixed up at times).
If I am, I am certain someone will correct me. :)

Price range would be between $165 to $175.

well, no survival knife for me for a month then!
I will need to pay for this beastie and the JKM-1 and shipping when this gets in. :)

I can't wait though to get a chance to test it out and you can be sure I will post a review with lotsa pix and maybe even a video! ;)

It also reminds me a bit of the Cherokee Rose, but more villager/utilitarian version:

Neat little piece. An interesting take on the butcher knife; I'll be interested in the first review!. I'm also intrigued that it still has the cho & sword of Shiva, even though it's not a khukuri.
