The first time I ordered a stock Utility way back in April of last year, the company was still trying to reassemble itself under control of the new owner. I didn't get the thing until July, but the constant emails assuring me of the progress being made gave the feel that I could trust this guy and trust the product, even with the delays. It's been my EDC ever since, as long as it took it's a fine product.

Last week, wanting a backup in case I lost it (...Right, we all tell ourselves that) I impulsively ordered a red-wrapped Utility in the same size as before, planing on getting it a few weeks down the line as hopefully things had improved. Just the one sheath, a side order of sheath-sticks to try out, nothing custom as they're focusing mostly on production models nowadays, nothing that required more than going through a Paypal shopping cart.

I ordered it Sunday morning, got it in the mailbox Friday afternoon being shipped from Florida to Illinois. I received a tracking number the day it was shipped, and besides it coming dull enough to warrant a few Sharpmaker swipes, I'm pretty impressed at how much this maker has bounced back. I waited nearly a year for a Utility in my size to come up, then months of waiting as things got settled, so it's not hard to one-up the experience I got the first time around...But a week is pretty dang fast.

As for the knife itself, initial sharpness aside the quality is top-notch including the brilliant little sheath and the usual extras they throw in such as zip-ties for mounting and extra cord-wraps.
