  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Hiking with the BB13

The BB13 was offered in a satin finish, convex grind LE variant. Only a few were made, though!

I do not remember that at all. You sure it wasn't a custom shop thing. I would love to see a pic of a factory satin.

That’s just a stunning blade, Ptac157. I remember when you first posted that over a year ago—still looks great!

BTW here’s clampdaddy’s blade with a Ban-Tang-applied zero convex edge:

The faint marks aren’t prominent at all after clampdaddy’s super bead-blast job, and it’s a user so no worries. Cleans up easily with steel wool and Hoppes No 9 bore solvent—shows virtually no signs of wear at all. My best pure chopper. Thanks again, cd!

Ban does great work, his prices are high though.

I will say though, I am impressed with Norcal Blacktail's work. I picked up this B11 done by him and I am impressed with the work, so he is another option:

Was the Resi-C handle removed and replaced? How would that be accomplished? Heat?

You drill out the tube and the handle pops off, with no damage. It can be re-installed after stripping.
Wow! I had no idea. I think I may invest in in one of those tube presses so I can reattach them. Any recommendations?

On another note, is NCB still working on other makers' knives? I thought he was mostly making his own knives now. I have a BATAC that he did and it is amazing!

I would assume that if asked he would work on a knife. I am impressed with his work. Every bit as good as Ban.

All I know about were the ones at Knob Creek, other than the 3 asym's I sent in to Garth for factory satin. I wasn't at Knob Creek, but was told by two different people who were there, that there were 6 sold there--all standard V grinds.

So your 3 plus another 6. Got it.
