Hinderer Skinnys

I’ve had them both and the Skinny no Choil slicer wins for me. I like how you can choke up on it when there’s a choil but without the choil it still feels good and your getting that extra amount of blade I feel makes a huge difference especially when cutting rope. The thinner blade stock also makes a big difference for me even with the stock blade angle. To be honest after experiencing and owning a Skinny no choil slicer other then for looks I don’t know if I could ever go back to a standard XM 18 3.5 except for just being able to say I had one lol. Also the Skinny rides in the pocket so much better

I agree the skinny really makes the knife so much more EDC friendly. I had to grab the vintage Bowie but I really wish it was a skinny..... I still really like my choils though.

For sure the choils are nice and after all they are a trademark Hinderer touch :)
I really like your Vintage Bowie what a beautiful knife !!!!!

No pics yet, but I received my skinny today (thanks DLT!). Glad I went with the 2 tone. I swapped out the scale for my MEFP carbon fiber one. Oh hohoho, it's a sexy knife. I don't mind the extra girth the reg scale adds.

Needless to say, I get the hype. I'll post pics tomorrow when I'm not at work.

Just went thru a Goldilocks moment. I've always felt the handle thickness of my standard 3.5" XM-18 a bit too thick for my EDC preference. On the flip side, I've felt the handle thickness of the Skinny a bit too thin. So this holiday I installed a "regular" XM-18 scale (the standard textured G-10) on my Skinny and actually like it very much. Not too thick nor too thin, but just right. Going to go with this for a few more days and if I still like it I may just skip waiting for a Skinny specific CF or Ti scale upgrade and order the regular versions.

Anyone else tried this and feel the same way?

Happy New Years everyone!

Interesting. Are the body screws long enough to hold the lock side and the liner/g10 scale together securely? The screws on the regular xm-18 would be too long, correct?

Haven't had any issues yet. I used the hardware provided. The pivot threads just enough. No "nipple" on the lock side, but all the threads are in the female pivot. The body screws seem to thread in enough as well.

Loving the Skinnys! I haven’t bought a single knife after my 4 Skinnys. I think I’ve arrived.

Anybody excited about those new Skinny Skinners coming to USA Made Blade? Not the blade shape for me, but cool to see more Skinnys coming out!

Nope, this is the first I'm hearing about it. I'll definitely be on the look out thank you.

My ears perked up as soon as I saw USAMadeBlade's post on IG this morning. I already have two other skinnies, a slicer and a sheepsfoot (both of which I love), so don't think I'll buy one, but I'm glad to see the skinny line expand.

Impressively, this XM-24 edc rather really well! It weighs as much as a XM-18 just larger.
