Just got it yesterday from Rick at the Ohio Riverfront Cutlery show. He brought two. This one is his 3 1/2" XM-18 with flat ground spanyo blade 20 CV. Non-flipper which I picked purposely. Black G10. Rick tells me he won't be making any more knives till the New York show. Anyhow this one is SOLD shipped priority mail. No trades please. Email with any questions or if you want it. First I'll take it here gets it. Postal money orders or personal checks are fine. No paypal. Sorry for the crummy photos, all I have is a scanner for now. Thanks for looking

Whoa hold on there bub! I said what!?? I wont be making ANY more knives till the new york show? Uh no, I didnt say that..I will be making lots more knives before the new york show.
Of course this wont effect the sale of your XM (which unfortunatly there were people there who really wanted one, instead of just to flip it) but, I dont like people stating things I did not say! I make knives for a living, people who know me and my work know I would never had said such a thing.

Rick

Sorry Rick. Misunderstood you I guess? I was pretty sure that's what you told me, I would not have stated so otherwise. No problem though, this is a good thing for those who want your knives.

No there was no misunderstanding as i never said i wasnt making any more knives until the ny show. Again, i make knives for a LIVING why would I say something like that. What would i do until November? sit on my butt and watch opra?!

Again... My appologies. I made a mistake. What can I say, I'm human. How far do you want to go with this Rick? All I can say is thank you for the correction, I won't let it happen again. Matter of fact I won't be looking for your knives anymore. Perhaps that might help me.

Blackend,

For starters, It was the River's Edge show where you you bought that knife from. Normally, I would not have a problem with someone buying something from us and selling it for whatever they felt like it, but in this case, Rick was kind enough to let us sell the two knives he brought to the show, and we wanted to sell them to our customers. We could have easily sold that knife for a great deal more than we sold that one for. The reason we didn't, is that your buddy, the guy that said he wanted it, told me that it was for his collection and not for re-selling it. You had already "mistaken" with what you stated about Rick and I guess you are "mistaken" again when you state that you purposely bought the one without the flipper on it when the fact is the flipper was already sold before you even knew there was one available. While this is not a big deal, It is just another lie trying to sell a knife when the knife would have just sold itself. To sum it up, I just don't like being lied to for your financial gain. I had a lot of people who would have liked to have that knife that deserved to have it for the price we sold it.

OK. This is getting stupid. Lets call this what this is. Almost everyone who buys Ricks knives at shows eventually sells them for profit. I've seen this for years. I'm not a dealer or a purvayor. I wanted the knife for my own personal use and actually really wanted one of the 3" versions, hoping I could trade someone at some point. I haven't lied about anything. I'm a stand up guy that have been on the forums for years. I had several people PM on Ricks very unprofessional response. And just so all of you know and really care. There were several people at the "Rivers Edge" cultery show and store that had XM-18's and all were priced at $525. So please don't give me any crap about making a profit(which I did NOT). I sold the knife for $440. YES $440. Because the person who wanted it was going to use it, and NOT just turn a profit. You show me anyone, ANYWHERE, who is selling an XM-18 at that price outside of Rick at a show!
You are a knife store owner. A nice shop BTW, but how much are your knives marked up? I can tell you alot higher than other dealers. You were not lied to for financial gain. The intent of my friend was to indeed get the knife for collection. I actually talked him out of it because I, not him, wanted to use it originally. Talk about lied to... What about Rick telling people at the show he was going to do a lottery drawing at the show and then last minute just giving his knives to you to sell at your store? I feel sorry for the others who didn't even have a chance to get one! Being your first post here, and being a dealer, please don't talk about making money in the knife business. We(and I'm talking about most people on the forums) are fun, enjoyable people who buy and sell knives here to use for the most part, not to gain profit. This is also the reason why my friend didn't sell the knife to one of your employees who offered him $525 at the show! I purposley bought the non-flipper version because that's what I wanted. If my friend would have gotten the flipper one, I would have passed. Please don't assume anything, it just makes an ass out of you...and well, we know the rest.
I have no hard feelings about Rick Hinderer or his knives. It was just a misunderstanding on my part to begin with, which I tried to explain and apologize for. People wouldn't let it go. Now everyone who cares knows the real truth. There was never any type of cover up or conspirasy. Grow up and let it go!

Some people need to read the Exchange rules.

All negative feedback must be restrained to The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.
Do not make negative comments in someone's for sale thread, you will be penalized.

Looks like PKDmslf just beat me to this but I'm going to say this anyway.

I urge you gentleman to read the rules for the exchange forums.

Not to butt into anything not my business but I would suggest, no let me just say that I would say its preferred by all of us that you keep in mind that this is a for sale forum and this thread ended when the sale was final. Some feedback is tolerated on these threads but truthfully this is not really a 'discussion forum' or the place for negative feedback or for back and forth bantering or discussion. If you good folks are going to continue this back and forth commenting please take it to a forum where an open discussion is more appropriate. The Good Bad and Ugly forum would be more appropriate than here for example. This is the kind of thing that led to the production forum being set up so we give infractions for this kind of thing there now. So, lets not bring a reason to re-evaluate the setting here ok? Thank you for understanding. I personally like to know that if a beauty goes up for sale here that a member can post a comment on what a great snag it was by the guy that beat him to it or to just compliment the owner. It would suck if we had to give a warning or infraction for this behavior due to this type thing so move on please.
