OK, every so often when a thread pops up concerning the Buck/Strider 889SBMF, I hear some folks say the liner-lock on theirs is weak and won't hold very well.
I also see them describe the liner-lock on theirs as being "thin" and "Stainless Steel".
As you can see from this picture of mine from awhile back, the liner-lock on it is very thick and has a "case hardened" appearance.
The lockup is as solid as a bank vault door, and it take alot of force to unlock it, making me wonder hwat on the earth could make it fail.
Have there been changes in the liner-lock of the SBMF since it's release, and it that why some of them seem to have liner-locks that are thinner adn weaker than newer ones?
