Hit me with that sleeper folder

Older pic, Les George VECP V3, mine a Tanto no less...

It's kind of an oddball compared to a lot of other more popular or budget friendly options maybe, for me this one has a character all its own.

The morph pattern has great texturing and feel in hand.

Benchmade mini presidio II with CF elite. While bugout gets all the fame, the presidio is imo a better knife. Solid construction with full liner, premium material and it’s cheaper than the bugout. Probably one of the most under appreciated knife in the benchmade lineups for anyone considering a bugout or a para 3.

Gerber DMF auto & non auto! It's been a long while since they made a solid knife!!! Not sure when they started these. I think I bought it in '12 or '13. Who knows...

Its a solid offering for a change!

Cold Steel 4Max Scout is a very good folder. It's big, but carries well clipped to the pocket. I paid less than $80 for mine. The Cold Steel Tuff Lite is much smaller, but it is another good knife. It has a sort of Wharncliffe blade that is very sharp. I paid $30 for this one.

Spartan Blades Astor. It can be found for under $90 shipped (in the US) from a well known online knife website. 3.5" of CTS XHP. Les George design. Fits my big paw well.
I don’t have the Astor, but I do have the Spartan Talos, and it definitively gets overlooked when someone is looking for a well made, easy to carry folder for around $100.

I never thought for a second I would ever carry a cleaver style knife like a Sheepdog. I found the BHQ exclusive in cpm10V and no flipper tab so I bought one for laughs….. this knife is INCREDIBLE! Love everything about it. Very slicey too!View attachment 1830989
Very agreed, the original Sheepdogs never quite caught my eye, but that one is basically the perfect non-framelock configuration, the flipper delete rocks, and the blade steel is super neat to see in a production knife, and the price was whacky. A great buy.

BHQ had them on super sale last month for under $60!!

I bought one of those for a friend of mine who was active military, right before he deployed and he loved it.
Solid knife, I have the aluminum version , also a solid knife.

+1 on the Cold Steel Tuff Lite.

The combination of a super ergonomic handle, thin hollow grind wharncliffe, and short overall blade adds up to incredible cutting power at the tip.

I use it frequently for crafts - especially leather cutting which it does very well.
