Changed gears and went to a big lake for a day of paddling, fishing and just relaxin'. With all the tweener frenzy, I wanted to get my poor old BK 7 out for some sunshine just so it wouldn't feel unloved.

Some gear, my Emmrod, fire kit and sleek seven..

Just a perfect day, wish all our paddlin' Beckerheads could have been here today to join us.

Put in was a bay on Barkley Lake.

I keep a fire kit in a drybox. Three bics, matches, wet fire tinder, matches, fat wood...etc. When I want fire, by god I want a fire.

Damn, looks to be an awesome time. That bridge seems crazy. Never heard of the Emmrod before. Cool looking rig.

Moose turned us on to it when we did the Big South Fork. It's a great rig for fishing out of a boat. I got tired of breaking rods.

Also known in some circles as a Buffalo.

Interesting...... which model of Emmrod is that you have in the pic?

From their site it looks like maybe the Rugged Flex.

It's the "kayak king". Nice people to do business with. They will walk you right through the models to find the one you need.
 
Looking good, were you out in the Land Between the Lakes area? Got family out in Paducah, been down in that area a little bit.

Yep. Land between the lakes. On the Barkley side. One of the most beautiful and wildest places in the midwest. We spend a lot of time there backcountry camping, hiking and paddling. We're about 30 minutes from Paducah.
 
love those little dry boxes. so versatile.
 
Amen brother. That one goes from pack to pack. Don't leave the house without it. It's one of the cheapos from Wally.
 
Not tippy at all. I've seen Moose sit on the side of his with his feet in the water. He's about 235 and it didn't even lean. Now, that's a Tarpon mind you.......
