Hog Christmas ideas…

Last year she got her pick of one of these. Time for a new option :p

She probably didn't find anything she liked. Can I pick?? Just one??:D;)

This isn't your usual "girl" she hates to shop, likes to ride bikes, loves to climb rock walls, doesn't care about cloths and likes small diamonds.

Skunk said to me last week, "....well if she comes to blade she can go shopping with all the women."

She would frigging KILL ME if I suggested that:eek:

.

She can hang out with me....:):) or she can help you in the trough

Hopefully you purchased him an armguard too. I vote for a nice bow for mom too. Maybe a starter compound bow.

.

How about a wedding ring???

:D

ROTFL!!!!

You can pick up a kids archery set (compound bow) at Dick's Sporting Goods for about $30. A target is another $30. My girls have the set. Not the BEST. I had to use some Gorilla Tape to make a better arrow rest and a nock-point on the string, but it is fairly accurate. Takes me back to my bow-shootin days in HS. I was able to teach them b/c I was using bows before they had these fancy releases and stuff. How we ever hit crap back then is beyond me.

It's better than a $100+ real compound or recurve that he'll outgrow in a few years. My 9 yr old (7 when we got the bow) and 11 yr old have no problem with the draw length.

Well if it had been one of my Ex's I think they would go a bundle on a Hermes,
Channel, or similar hand bag...something to put the AD in...something a lot more expensive though than the AD...then if you get the Hermes or Channel handbag....you can get the matching shoes for the birthday....soon you end up knowing more about this type of thing than is healthy....especially for the wallet.....

Tony, if you are going to go the archery route for her and maybe yourself, there are a few dedicated archers over in WS&S. I am getting back into archery recently and have done a bunch of research on equipment in the recurve/stickbow realm, if I can be of any assistance let me know.

Tony,
Can I have that same option?
I'll even bring my own bow :)

(it won't be #37 but you do have two of them ;))

Oh the one we had talked about at Blade last year. Sure it's yours if you still want to work something out. I don't need two.

Well I have to start to get that table ready for Christmas dinner here. I'm having 8-9 people so if I have to extend the table I may take a few hours to put all the knives out again. :)

Thanks,

I noticed a shop near the range in Golden Gate Park and it turns out that the guy teaches kids all the time so I figured I'd let him figure out what the boy should need. I talked with him for about an hour and although I was willing to spend some money he sent me out the door with a very basic recurve and a few lessons, saying that I can spend money if it turns out that the boy likes the sport.

I also wanted to stay away from compounds in case he really does like it because they can't shoot matches with compounds... well at least that is what he said.

But let me know what you found out because I think I'll be needing one of these too

Just trying to help :D

Glad to see you pick something other than a compound. Right now I shoot a Breakdown Recurve but my dream is a Tomahawk Thunderstorm. From what I have heard, they are the Busse of stickbows.

Sounds like your girl has her stuff strait man. Mine's the same way! bought her a shotgun last year (loved it).

I was thinking a longbow this year as she's not into compounds.
