Hogfshle

I have an ordinary FSH and it's BLOODY AWESOME!!!

You will be VERY happy with the one you have bought.

Great balance, very tough chopper and without being too huge to be used for finer work. They're really good for holding and looking at too :)

I've got a FSH at .270 not a true HOGFSH like yours though. Does yours have the Snakeskin handles? At any rate the Steelhearts in any flavor are one of my favs.
Sounds like you've got an awesome one, and Congratulations on your score.  Got any pics?

I the LE don't have snakeskin, they have tigerhide. At the high of the market, the LEs sold for higher the $1500 each. These are very very rare knives and hard to come by. You scored a beautiful piece of history and will be very happy!

I can tell you that we need a pic of such a nice and rare knife :D

Congrats Balislinger! The HOGFSHLE is a beast! I have a HOGFSH (Heavy Ordinance Grind Fusion Steel Heart for those new collectors) in satin with tan magnum scales. The heft and balance are like no other in my collection.

Sorry, its an old picture

Hi Balislinger

You got yourself a great knife. They are built like a sherman tank and will out live the next few generations of your family.

Here are my two for your viewing pleasure

THey are incredible knives......the proper term is HOFSH., not HogFSh. Not that I really care but you did ask for specifics, background etc...

I like HOGFSH but technically it is incorrect:thumbup:

I think the G was originally for "grade" - Heavy Ordinance Grade FSH. At least that's the way I remember it. Either one is cool, though, and the knife definitely is.

On the subject of acronyms, however, there is one that's been grating on me. :)
SWKW = Swamp Wat Knife Works? I digress.

Sweet knife, Bali. For such a fist full of INFI, that knife really is classy. Congrats!

You maybe right....I will never forget the night I asked Cobalt about the satin snake I have from him and was told emphatically that it was HOFSH:foot:;):D

I think somebody else has very emphatically proclaimed it to be HOFSH. Maybe Progunner or rbmcmjr. I am pretty sure it's HOFSH.

And I also don't understand how SRKW always gets changed to SWKW, go figure.

Yeah, I remember someone posted the original thread or the Company Store page to prove their point about the right acronym. But anyways, I'm hoping I'll like the tigerhide mags on it. I sure do like them on my SFNOs, and the only thing that bugs me about my satin/snake HOFSH is that the scales are standards. I sure would like a sheath like this one as well:

I caught a HO FiSH once. She had hotpants on and pretty heavy lipstick and mascara. In fact, she kept trying to jump into the boat.

You shouldve been a gentleman and helped your date back into the boat.:thumbdn:

Not to change the subject or anything. But i was curious as to why the HOFSHLE tends to be priced higher than a FBMLE when there's more Infi in the FBMLE than the HOFSHLE? They are both 0.312 thick right. Less HOFSH made or what. Thanks,
