I've had the Ritter Hogue in black for a while now, close to year I think. I really like it for edc. Didn't know there was an orange one. May have to Orange up in 2020!

I am sorry you are upset, but the reason you didn't get a response is that Roger gave his employees the day after Christmas off since they had worked until mid-night Christmas Eve. As such, there was nobody there to respond. As for the M390 vs 20CV, if you want an exchange or credit, that's not a problem. Not sure how that happened, but the change to 20CV was a running change, since they are interchnagable steels from our perspective, and its possible some leftover M390s were left in stock when the change occurred. In any case, they are in the office today, just call toll free 888-225-9775 and ask for Ashley and she will take care of a cost-free exchange or credit.

Thanks Doug, appreciate the response. I did eventually succeed in getting in touch with them, they were surprised too that the knife I received was M390, they said there must have been a few left over in the warehouse and in fact, on the box itself, it's not labelled as to which steel it is so somebody packing it would not know.

They were actually really good about the return: not only did they promptly exchange it for the 20CV version, they also paid for the return shipping which they don't normally do.

Good service, my faith in Knifeworks (been doing business with them for I think 15 years) has been restored.

Congrats your going to love it !
One of my favorites without a doubt.
Only thing needed was a MXG DP clip imo .

Which MXG clip did you go with and did it remove the hotspot when in use?

I’m left handed so I’ve never experienced a hot spot with the stock clip when gripping the knife. Even when I held it right handed it really wasn’t a hot spot for me but I could feel it slightly . We’re I did notice it though was when disengaging axis bar to close the top of the clip would create a hot spot in the palm of my hand. Not really a bad hot spot but was a little annoying and is why I swapped out the clip. Also although not a deal breaker but I prefer a deeper in the pocket carry. To the MXG and Lynch clip there both great and picked up a Lynch in Black DLC and a MXG in Stone washed. The Lynch is on there now you see in the picture posted that you’ve quoted. The Lynch clip slightly covers the lanyard hole but also it will ride slightly deeper in the pocket and also slides in the pocket easier one handed because of the way the tip of the clip is shaped. The MXG does not cover the lanyard hole but still rides deeper in the pocket then stock. It doesn’t slide as easily in and out of the pocket but still can be done one handed. The MXG feels better in hand when opening and closing and when holding the knife. They both feel good in hand but I’d have to give a slight edge to the MXG .
Hope this helps and I’ve attached a pic of MXG so you can compare
The lynch clip again is the black DLC laying next to the hogue ritter and the MXG is on the knife.

Yeah, it was not a big deal IMHO, and was handled beautifully.

I like this orange more than the burnt orange on my other knives.

This is a great winter/outdoors carry. I'll get the Mini next.
