so my new Hogue 4in blade came in , of course I had to see what is inside and how its working .
but first , fit and finish amazing every part finished , everything in line , everything strait, button, pivot and safety polished , just amazing for $200 knife . Blade 3.8mm thick, very sharp and has mirror edge . Beautiful G10 as well , has bronze inserts for screws ( don't use thread-lock there)
Operation very smooth with SOLID lockup no blade play at all (yet) ,
few things what I dont like , they use hex screws ,replaced mine with torx .
lanyard hole to small I cant put para cord in there , maybe someone can but not me . Safety to easy engage I see why they did it, but you dont really need it , to close the knife you have to press button all the way in and that is close to imposable by accident.
ok time for pictures .

That's a significant chunk of knife.

Congrats!

I was very surprised by the EX01. I bought the 3.5" with black, aluminum handles and it's one of the best knives I've ever bought. My aluminum EX01 does not have the bolsters.

Nice thanks for showing pictures of the inner workings, I was wondering about that. Man that thing really seems to be raising the bar. The whole no washers thing is a little bit wierd though, how smooth is it?

They're very smooth, surprisingly. I have an aluminum handled one (3.5" blade) & a G-10 version (4" blade, like the OP's, but mine's a drop-point version).

I can't decide which one I like better. The aluminum ones don't have the steel inner bolster, while the G-10 ones do. The G-10s are grippier, but the al ones seem to be grippy enough & aren't going to wear out any pockets.

I have not heard any bad things about these knives. I've read about some little nit picks, but nothing major.

Time will tell how these hold up under hard use for extended periods, but I'm guessing they'll do just fine.

I've gotten really fond of the washerless design on my Caly 3s. I've had about a dozen over the years and they've all been very smooth, very tight, and exceptionally clean around the pivot even after a couple of years of EDC carry.

That's one of the things that attracting me to the Hogue. That may be my next buy.

I got mine monday. its looks can pass for a 400.00 custom. the pivot & lock are heat treated, too. handles are real nice, like raindrop g10 if you want to call it that.scary sharp out of the box.no blade play, solid lockup. For under 200.00,its a lot of knife for the money !

From the moment I saw them , I wanted one. Hopefully, I'll come across a 3.5" model sooner than later.
