Holiday GAW - Schrade IXL Canoe! Winner announced - post #51!

I've posted pics of this one before. But since you asked, here it is again. ;) I found it years ago and had to "fix" the tip. I carry this pretty much everyday. It's a great little knife. I'm in. Thank you.

Never considered myself a "Schrade nut" but I seem to have a few around. :D And I never pass up a chance to pick one up if I can.

As a canoe canoeseur, I'm obligated to enter this GAW! I'm thrilled to have a shot (or three) at that wonderful canoe; thanks for your generosity, Chris!:thumbup:
Here's a photo of a couple of Schrades I currently have, both Schrade USA 34OTs.
This one is a gift from davek14:

This is a before-n-after of one I found at a flea market while on vacation this summer and cleaned up a bit:

Thanks for the giveaway.

I grew up with a Schrade stockman. It was stolen by another kid when I was younger.

I have a Schrade stockman again. My dad still has the XL version.

Recenlty, I was able to buy the GEC made Fire and Ice Schrade's.

I have one for each of my boys when they are old enough to open them!

My 10 year old is still not able to do so, because his nails are too soft.

Here are my GEC

This looked real bad when i found it at a Pawn shop but it cleaned up nicely. Wish I would have taken Before pics.

Thank you for the generous chance. I'm an IXL guy, Wostenholm was my first gifted slipjoint, and unfortunately it disappeared on its way to New Zealand a couple of years ago. It's funny to me, that even though I know better, to my mind Schrade=Old Timer knives exclusively. And I have examples that aren't OT!!

I will try to get a collection shot some time!!

Some great-looking knives here :) We don't really see the old Schrade knives here,in fact we don't even see much of the new ones! :D I have a few that other forum members have kindly gifted me over the years. This Pull-Ball was gifted to me by a member whose currently absent, Jone. Thanks again for the chance

Not yet a Schrade owner, but my little finger tells me one is on his way to my home. So i'm in, just for the fun and pleasure to see fine oldies. :)

I'm in! What a great GAW! I have no Schrades, IXLs, Wostenholms, or canoes. This gets 'em all in one shot.

It is an interesting pattern ain't it? What is is equal end? Cattleman's missing a blade? Gent's knife? This one happens to be very beefy with a lot of heft and very solidly built, it's collectible in that that aren't any more of these made and I certainly hope it gets pockets a bit! I think I handled it more as a worry stone than an actual EDC while watching tv though.

It's gotten a whole bunch of interesting whoa's, what's this sitting on my coffee table at home though.

cchu58 thanks for a great thread and the awesome GAW. Half-Stop thats nice man. JackBlack thats a piece of Schrade history right there.

I'm going to post another entry displaying/describing some of my current Schrades. Chris wrote that Taylor Schrades are also acceptable in his GAW, so here's a Chinese Schrade 44OT. Four different blade shapes (clip, sheepsfoot, spey, and wharncliffe) in the same little package was the draw for me with this knife.

Last Monday, I took delivery on an "Old Timer Limited Edition Gift Set" from Taylor Schrade. It contained an 18OT (Mighty Mite), a 61OT (Slim Premium Stockman), and a 72OT (Dogleg Jack). I also picked up 3 Chinese Imperial Schrades: large and small canoes and a small sodbuster. I hope I can get photos this weekend!

Lots of cool knives being posted in this thread! Thanks again, Chris, for putting that fantastic canoe up for grabs!

Here's a "Schrade" of another color from a different mother!
Canal Street Cutlery pinch air lockback in bone linen micarta made in Ellenville, NY. I was quite shocked when this arrived I couldn't believe what I got for the price! Sadly at the time I had well too many trappers and traded this one. I think I should stop being a stickler about having too many repeat knives in the same size and just own up to liking knives in the size and shape that I like rather than getting stuff to fill the gaps of what I don't have. But this one is on my list of "to get again" should I be in the market for another locking trapper! I've had about half a dozen knives that I foolishly let go only to get them back and I know I will meet this model again at some point! :p

I'm in! I've only got one Schrade, this Old Timer that my grandfather owned many years ago.

Really interesting thread, and thank you for the chance at the GAW, I'm in. Here's a few Schrades from the Heritage Series that make their way into the rotation.
