HOLY COW !!! Have you seen this....

All they would really have to do is make everything 70% current thickness and make the blade a normal spearpoint with the spine starting where the inscription is. It would instantly perform better and look better, take up less space in a pocket, cut the weight down, etc.

The very good handle design is let down by the rest of it and I don't get how someone who has spent a good amount of time with knives would make the mistakes...unless they were told to make it more Rambo and dumbed down for marketing.

Really. You gotta love TOPs. "Warning: This knife's for real men only! Not oozing testosterone? Don't even think about buying it, pansy."

Most of us aren't pansies, we just like to be able to use our pockets, and be able to reach into them as well.

Well...I guess if you're not man enough to carry that knife...then TOPs doesn't want you to buy it.

:D

I do just love that marketing move. I'm sure it works, or we wouldn't see it so often.

"I'll show TOPs who's 'bad*ss enough'! I'll buy their silly knife! How you like that, TOPs...in your face!"

Must be one of the uggliest knifes I've seen. Reminds me of a folding brick. The trend of "biggest baddest most brutal" folder stretch the definition of a knife. :-)

I may be wrong, but I think they intend for you to drop it in a sock so you can swing it at potential foes.

Tops:
"... cause they're hard to the core."

I can't take TOPS seriously until they work on their spelling, grammar, and reduce the Extreme Force Operator ad-copy.

THE SUCCESS OF OUR ORIGINAL
X CEST ALPHA (FIXED BLADE), WAS VERY POSITIVE IN
ITS PERFORMANCE FOR FIELD OPERATORS.

And get rid of the capitalization, too.

IT HAS TAKEN TOPS KNIVES A GOOD YEAR TO REFINE,
TWEEK AND FIELD TEST OUR NEWEST ADDITION,
THE ‘X CEST DELTA’. WITH ITS RUGGED GOOD LOOKS
ACCOMPANYING ITS’ MULTI USE FIELD ABILITIES

Sorry, it took me a second to post as I puked in my mouth looking at it. Good Gawd! They sure don't try to add style to it, do they. I see a potbelly piggish look to it. Shame. Just a crying shame.......

The new TOPS folder: XCEST DELTA ??? Folder with a 3/16" thick blade & 15/16" handle width. Seems like a heck of a bomb-proof folder. WAYYYY pricey though, at least their MSRP is.

Who will be the first ?

Is it really a folder? All I'm finding on google is a short fixed blade with a survival kit. 3/16-inch doesn't sound that unusual for a sheath knife. And the price was only a little over $100 for the package. Seemed fair to me.

Its a folding club that is trying to be a knife. Personally, I'd rather just carry a sap. The good news is: Tops offers 286 different products, so according to the law of averages, at least a few must be worth owning.

But how am I supposed to open my bag of pop tarts with it? Every time I have a super beefy knife on me that can't accomplish basic real world tasks very well, I feel like a total doofus.

My SmF has a 3/16" thick blade, and it opens Pop Tart bags just fine.
It even cuts other things like paper, cardboard and wood.
Of course, there WAS some edge reprofiling involved to improve it from the "edge more suited to digging rocks out with" it originally had.:D
