This is pretty impressive, I am sure other knives can do the same thing, but at the same time that design lends it that kind of abuse (doing what it did damage wise).

No-spin throwing a folding knife is one of the most stupid things I can think of. There's a reason why that guy is standing 3 or 4 feet away from the target. Folding knives just don't have the right balance or shape for no-spin throwing (or really any kind of throwing) at any significant range.

The Ti-lite is a liner lock with a pretty thin liner.

If you have committed for whatever reason to relying on a folder for emergency or self defense use, that folder should withstand an impact or a shock such as that without the lock disengaging or any major components breaking.
 
If I am relying on a knife, of any type, for emergencies or self defense rest assured that it will not be thrown.

This is just hilarious. I get the whole idea of trying it just for the sake of seeing what happens, but I sure hope nobody takes it seriously.. And hey, still pretty neat to know what happens when you throw a Ti-Lite at a fake head! I wonder how well the Ti-Lite balances for throwing further? (never held one, just ogled ones still in the package)

I'm surprised the lock failed too, liner lock or not, a knife intended for uses like the Ti-Lite is should hold up to some abuse like impacting a person's face. But it did..

yes that was the older ti lite with the liner lock, not the new triad lock.

here is a better video of fred perrin throwing the cold steel american lawman, he seems to like them and they seem to hold up well, can anyone translate what he is saying about the knives ??

That video makes me quite nervous. If he accidentally slipped, the knife might have spun more than was intended, bounced back and cut him. He's throwing with quite a lot of force and he's very close to the target.
