I think the 2 was most peoples first Becker, if not first quality woods-knife in general. I know it's what got me started, watching and reading Brab's classic torture thread of the BK2 made me want one. I have always like big brutal things that are hard to kill....and the Campanion is the epitome of that.

I find myself sort of ignoring the poor 2 a lot, it doesn't get the spotlight the King and others do...and the wild train ride that was the Tweener release has made a lot of us ''mothball'' our old loves. But it's comforting knowing the 2 is there, patiently waiting to be released on any chore we ask of it. I call the Beast2 my ''Knife Insurance''....No matter how hard or dirty, no matter if it's something I SHOULDN'T be doing with a knife, the Sharpened Prybar always comes through.

I think it means something that the 2 is the only knife I own two of....it aint glamorous, it aint as sexy looking as some, but it gets the job done and it can be depended on at all times.

I have honestly tried to hurt my Campanion....I have put it through tasks that I would shudder to try with other blades...have tested and experimented...beat on and neglected....the 1/4'' 1095 studhorse takes anything I throw at it and laughs.

People gripe it's too heavy, it aint long enough, but the people who love their 2s just smile inside and give their baby another stropping.

I was playing with my 2 out in the yard today...and it just reminded me that maybe I have been buying more and more knives when the first one I bought would last my life...and suits me to a Tee.

My 2 on his first day out...

Photo-0263.jpg

He's been stripped, cliched, jimped, filed, etched and clipped. Not to mention had the holy hell beat out of him.

This aint My thread, this is the Bk2s thread...I KNOW I aint the only one who loves this Beast...share your thoughts, your adventures, your pics....and if ya don't have a BK2, try one out, I don't think many regret the measly ~65 dollars the BK2 cost them. If you have a BK2 that you have been neglecting.....take him out for the day.

Dang it TB those wood scales are too nice for words. I am Super Jelly

Ya for sure FAL'er hooked me up. I love these things. I was just thinking I would LOVE to magically have 5 or 6 more sets identical to these....I would have them on every full-size Becker I own. Wood with micarta base. Awesome. I hadn't tried them on the 2 yet, they have been on the 5..I was playing around today and swapped them out, I think they will stay on my 2.

FALer did a beautiful job. Those scales are amazing.

I Fisked my 2 last week. I've never had my 2 this sharp, ever.

Aside from maybe needing some jimping on the spine, this 2 is about perfect now.

That's one thing I hate about the 2. It's just too damn thick of a blade for the delicate stuff.

BTW, I suck at making fuzzies.

yup, the 2 is definitely too thick and clunky for any real bushcrafting. ;)

I'm amazed that any sell....I mean, everyone knows 1/4'' is just too much knife. LOL

Thrill, those wood scales are sexy. Can I call knife scales sexy? Well, if knife scales can be sexy... those are it man!

I hear that. I was thinking of thinning mine out a bit. :D

You know... The 2 was what got me into 'good' knives... survival knives... hard use knives... whatever we want to call them. Prior to that, I thought my Buck 119 was a 'high end' knife...

I bout my BK2 in the first week of May... It's all been down hill from there...

- BK2
- BK4
- BK9 (and azwelke kydex)
- BK12
- BK16
- Micarta for each(except the 16)
- ESEE 3MIL
- ESEE 4
- ESEE 5
- ESEE 6
- Paid for the new ESEE 6 Group Buy
- ESEE Junglas
- ESEE Izula
- Ontario RAT 3
- Mora

... and numerous accessories, sheaths, and other outdoors gear... 2 backpacks, tent, hammock, bug net, 2 sleeping bags, and various essentials...

It's been an expensive couple of months, but I'm really enjoying getting back out into the wilderness. I grew up in scouts and camping with my dad but I've been out of the 'game' for years now. Really enjoying learning things like primitive fire, bushcraft shelter, improvised furniture, etc.

The 2 sparked it all for me. :) Now I'm just waiting for approval of my BeckerHead number!

Damn it TB, your clip pointed 2 is so much better than mine, I keep staring at mine and then back at yours like "Wait, where did I go wrong?" haha.

thanks, I just wanted it a tad more pointy, but subtle. I didn't want it to scream ''MODDED'' at first glance. I do still love the full clipped Warrior2 though, I may have to get one done some day, but who knows.

I really like my 2, it was my first Becker, and still one of my favorites, I just don't use it much since I find it's just too heavy to carry for a single knife.

If they made a thinner version of it, maybe 3/16th, or 5/32 instead of 1/4 and FFG it would be my all time favorite knife, I just find I can carry a machete and a thinner 4inch fixed blade and be around the same weight but be much more versatile, but If I could only have one knife in the woods, it would probably be the 2, it's just indestructible under any "normal" use.

trust me, its about indestructible under ABnormal use too! :)

Most of why I love the 2 IS the weight and size. The 16 is basically a FFG, thinner, lighter 2....yet I don't care for it. If you haven't tried the 16, maybe you should..sounds like you would love it.

Or the BK12 (Ritter MK2 Perseverance). It's a little longer than the 2, thinner than the 2, and almost FFG. It might just be my favorite BK blade.... but I don't have them all (yet)...
