Home Depot Knives are Crap

Incorrect. Sorry.

All of my cordless power tools are Dewalt. When they quit, or I get tired of buying expensive replacement batteries, then I'll switch to Ridgid. Why? Because Ridgid's power tool, INCLUDING THE BATTERIES are lifetime warranted by HD. This is directly off of the box of their tools, and from the mouth of the local HD manager.

What a deal!

Hm, interesting I may check out Rigid later, hope they make Li-ion, cause it's all I use for it's light weight and better charging capacity. Currently my cordlesses are lithinum 18V Makita impact driver and lithinum V28 Milwaukee drill and reciprocating saw. I bought neither one of them at Home Depot, but I use them hard and really like them. I did have a problem with one of the Makita's batteries, that I had to replace due to it's failure, costed me $55:(.

I received a XRP DeWalt kit from my wife and kids a few years ago for Christmas. I had Craftsman drill, circular saw, recip saw before that, and the batteries died. Way more expensive to replace those batteries than what DeWalt wants for theirs. I found out about Ridgid's warranty when I went to HD to buy more DeWalt batteries. Ouch.

Since this thread was about knives at HD, I have one of those folders from HD that take the utility knife blades. Works for me, but I'd never think about buying a benchmade or similar there. Not their specialty.

IIRC you need to sign up for the Ridgid lifetime thing, it's not automatic. You need to do it in the first 90 days of ownership.

I used to work for Holmes Despot and they are NOT a hardware store. Home improvement is what they are all about. Bob Nardelli ruined the company and now he is ruining Chrysler.
